So it’s that time of month where I decide to look at the books I want to read next month. I know this is something I tend to say every month, but how is it already April?!? So before talking about my TBR, I will say that I probably won’t read all of these, but I love talking about the books I’m excited about reading.
Buddy Reads/Group Reads
The only book that will be missing from this list is my in person book club pick. We don’t meet up until the week after this post comes online, so that’ll be another book I will be reading.
The Poppy War – R.F. Kuang
The next series slayers series I’m helping host is The Poppy War. The first discussion is on April 14th, so I’ll be starting this one as I soon as I finish reading The Sword of Kaigen for my in person book club. The Poppy War is a bigger book (500+ pages) and I know it’s a darker book, so I want to give myself some time.
Girl Abroad – Elle Kennedy
I love Elle Kennedy’s sports romances, so I definitely want to read Girl Abroad. This standalone romance is about a girl who gets to study abroad in London for a year. She is excited to explore her freedom and get some space from her retired rock star father. Things get even more interesting when she’s rooming with four guys instead of girls.
eARCs/Blog Tours
This month I have a couple of blog tours and eARCs I really want to get to! Let’s take a look!
Only and Forever – Chloe Liese
For me reading Only and Forever is going to be bittersweet. The Bergman Brothers series is one of my favorites and while I’m excited about reading Viggo’s romance, I’m also sad that it’s the last book. When you read these books you feel like you’re part of the family. It’ll be sad to “say goodbye”.
When I Think of You – Myah Ariel
I don’t read second chance romances that often, but I do enjoy them. Our main characters in When I Think of You have a second obstacle though. Besides finding their way back to each other, they may have to choose between their relationships and their careers.
The Rule Book – Sarah Adams
I recently read The Cheat Sheet and when I saw The Rule Book, I had to request an eARC. The Rule Book is a second chance romance and our characters reconnect 8 years later. This time as NFL player and sports agent. To make things more complicated, they wake up married one morning after a wild night. I have a feeling this is going to be a fun one!
A Letter to the Luminous Deep – Sylvie Cathrall
So I’m a fan of books that incorporate letters and a big fan of the fantasy genre. A Letter to the Luminous Deep seems to be a book that’s combining both of these. The synopsis says this is a whimsical fantasy with a mystery and a heartwarming romance. I won’t say no to a book like that.
Backlist/Physical TBR
As I do every month, I randomly choose 3 books from the unread books on my shelves. Let’s see what I get this month.
What If It’s Us – Becky Albertalli & Adam Silvera
What If It’s Us is a book I really need to read! This has been on my shelves since it released in 2018. That’s almost 6 years ago. I’ve enjoyed books by both of these authors and I’m excited to read the contemporary they wrote together.
The Only One Left – Riley Sager
Riley Sager is an author I keep saying I want to read more by, but I haven’t made that happen yet. I didn’t enjoy my first book by this author. Survive the Night just wasn’t a book for me and I hear I’m not the only one. The Only One Left is one that a lot of people seem to enjoy, so I’m excited to read it.
Royally Not Ready – Meghan Quinn
Meghan Quinn is one of my favorite romance authors and her books tend to make me laugh out loud. Royally Not Ready is one I’m excited to read, because it’s described as a spicy Princess Diaries. Her books tend to be longer, but they never feel that way as you’re reading.
So that’s my April TBR! Have you read any of these? Or what are some books you’re planning on reading next month? Let me know in the comments. I’d love to hear from you.
I have Only and Forever on my list. I’ve read Royally Not Ready. It wasn’t my favourite Meghan Quinn series, but not too bad.
