WWW Wednesday #54

It’s Wednesday, so time for a new WWW Wednesday to talk about my reading progress and plans. I really love these posts and talking more about what I’m reading before the monthly wrap up. Even if my reading plans change I like thinking about what I’m going to read!

So it’s time for my next WWW Wednesday. This is a weekly meme hosted by Taking On a World of Words and you participate by simply answering three questions:

  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What are you currently reading?
  • What do you think you’ll read next?

What did you recently finish reading?

Iron Flame – Rebecca Yarros

After loving Fourth Wing, I anxiously awaited the release of Iron Flame. If I’m honest, I was definitely scared of this book. There were also some mixed reviews. I’m glad I read this though, because I personally loved it. We learned more about the world and things got pretty intense. And that ending!! I need the third book now.

Same Time Next Year – Tessa Bailey

Tessa Bailey tends to be hit or miss for me and I was nervous, because Same Time Next Year is a novella. This marriage of convenience novella was a fast and fun read. Sumner definitely fell first and Britt slowly started trusting him. I have to say I would’ve loved if this was a full length book.

What are you currently reading?

The Hobbit – J.R.R. Tolkien

I’m sure most people have heard of The Hobbit and I’ve only seen the movies. That’s changing this month, because it’s my in person book club book. At the moment I’m 200 pages in and I’ve been reading along while listening to the audiobook. Andy Serkis is the narrator and I’ve enjoyed this experience so far. I might have already finished by the time this post comes online.

Bonesmith – Nicki Pau Preto

Bonesmith is a book that’s been on my radar for awhile and I even have the Fairyloot edition. I started a buddy read this week and we’ve read the first five chapters. I’m already enjoying this world and the magic with bones and ghosts. It’ll be surprising if this one doesn’t get a high rating.

What do you think you’ll read next?

The Foxglove King – Hannah F. Whitten

I feel like 2024 is going to be the year of buddyreads. The Foxglove King is one I’ll be starting this week. For me this was a cover buy at first, but the synopsis also sounds amazing. I want to read more fantasy this year, so I’m off to a great start.

Good Game – Madison Fox

Madison Fox is someone I’ve been watching on Booktube for a couple of years and she wrote her own book. Good Game sounds like a romance that I’ll enjoy, so I’m excited to see what she does with her own story.

So that’s my first WWW Wednesday of 2024! Have you read anything amazing recently? Or what did you start the year off with? Let me know in the comments! I’d love to hear from you.
