We have been having fun with Top Ten Tuesday, so we decided we will do one every week. This bookish meme was hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, and has been going since June 2010! Since January 2018 Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.
This week’s topic is Favorite Books of 2023 but Candyce and I always do our own favorites lists so I’m not doing that topic. I do really want to do next week’s topic so I’m doing a part 1 of Most Anticipated Books Releasing in the First Half of 2024 today. Let’s jump in!
1. Fence vol. 6 – C.S. Pacat & Johanna the Mad (January 16th)
I adore the Fence series and I have been counting down the days for this release so of course it has made my list haha. The previous volumes are all amazing and I can’t wait to dive into this one.
2. The Breakup Tour – Emily Wibberley & Austin Siegemund-Broka (January 23rd)
This is not my normal pick for a most anticipated release but I have high hopes! It sounds like a story I would really enjoy and Candyce has read and loved books by this author duo. So I’m definitely going to give it a try!
3. House of Flame and Shadow – Sarah J. Maas (January 30th)
My most anticipated read of the year, you know what I’ll be doing January 30th ;). If only I could get a sick day to read all day haha. That would’ve been absolutely amazing!! Hopefully I will read it a bit quicker than the previous 2 books haha.
4. Where Sleeping Girls Lie – Faridah Àbíké-Íyímídé (March 19th)
I loved loved loved Faridah Àbíké-Íyímídé’s debut novel and read it in like a day. Of course I was super excited when her newest release got announced and added it before even reading what it was about haha. I did eventually read the synopsis and I think this will be another great read.
5.The Perfect Guy Doesn’t Exist – Sophie Gonzales (March 26th)
I adore every single Sophie Gonzales book I’ve read so far and I’m so excited for this one. She just posted a great tiktok video about it as well! I’m super lucky and have an eARC for this one, but I still had to put it on the list. Hopefully I can read it in the next two months.
6. How To Solve Your Own Murder – Kristen Perrin (March 26th)
This title alone had me adding this book haha. The synopsis also sounds great and the early reviews are pretty good. It’s also marketed as for fans of Knives Out and I adore that movie so much.
7. The Reappearance of Rachel Price – Holly Jackson (April 2nd)
I loved Holly Jackson’s A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder series and really enjoyed Five Survive so I was on the lookout for her newest release. This one might have some A Good Girl’s Guide vibe and I’m here for it!
8. The Familiar – Leigh Bardugo (April 9th)
Leigh Bardugo might be one of my favorite authors and I’m super excited for her newest release. This is partly based on her own family’s history and I can’t wait to read it. I do still have to read her Alex Stern series, hopefully I can start that before this one releases.
9. Four Eids and a Funeral – Faridah Àbíké-Íyímídé & Adiba Jaigirdar (June 4th)
Another new Faridah Àbíké-Íyímídé release! This is written together with another author and definitely in another genre than Ace of Spades but it sounds cute and I would love to give it a try. I have loved books like this before and this might just be one I will enjoy!
10. Love Letters to a Serial Killer – Tasha Coryell (June 25th)
Another great title! This is definitely how you get me interested in a book haha. I also love the sound of this debut thriller and think it could be the perfect book for me. There aren’t any reviews yet, but I will keep my eye out for those.
These are 10 of my most anticipated releases for the first half of 2024! I hope it’s a mix between popular and less known releases. Are any of these on your radar? Or did I miss some great ones? Let me know in the comments!
#2 keeps catching my attention when I see it. I guess I need to add it to my tbr as well. Happy 2024!
I hope you love all of them.
Here is my Top Ten Tuesday post.
The Reappearance of Rachel Price is one I want to read. I hope you love all these!
