I recently posted the first part of my 24 books to read in 2024, click here for that post. So today it’s time to talk about the other 12 books I’ll be prioritizing in 2024. Keep on reading to find out what my plans are!
The Serpent King – Jeff Zentner
I’ve had The Serpent King on my shelves for at least 4 years, so it’s time for me to read it. I also own two other books by Jeff Zentner, so it’s my year to figure out if this author is for me. So many reviews say this was heart-wrenching, but also beautiful. I’ll have the tissues ready!
Magnolia Parks – Jessa Hastings
Magnolia Parks is a book that I’ve had on many TBRs and talked about in many posts since I added this book to my shelves in 2022. I now own the first four books, because I wanted the old covers (I don’t like the new covers at all). The fifth book releases next month I think, so another series I really should catch up on. I know it has a lot of drama, but sometimes I need a read like that.
Once Upon a Broken Heart – Stephanie Garber
If you’re in the bookish community, I’m sure you’ve heard of this book and trilogy. Caraval didn’t wow me, but a lot of people I know loved this trilogy even more. I’m still debating if I want to finish the Caraval trilogy before starting this one. It will be read this year though.
My Imaginary Mary – Cynthia Hand, Brodi Ashton & Jodi Meadows
These three authors write amazing books together and I’m still amazed their writing goes so well together. They give history a twist and really make me laugh out loud. I’m actually really surprised I haven’t read this one yet. Even though each book in this series can be read on its own, I want to be caught up before My Salty Mary releases in August.
Never Ever Getting Back Together – Sophie Gonzales
For some reason it takes me forever to read this author’s books, but I love them. So I really want to read this book that has a teen reality dating show. I just love that this one is going to have a twist though. Sophie’s next book releases in March and I have an eARC. Even though these books have nothing to do with each other, I want to get caught up with her backlist.
Glint – Raven Kennedy
I read the first book in this King Midas retelling and really loved it. My plan was to catch up with all four books to be ready for the release of the final book in December. Then the author announced we were getting another book in 2024 and it kind of stalled my reading. I did start Glint and really want to get caught up with The Plated Prisoner.
Chain of Gold – Cassandra Clare
Chain of Gold is another book I’ve been putting off for way too long! I love the Shadowhunter world and The Infernal Devices is my favorite trilogy. This is the start of the spinoff of that. Cassandra recently announced the titles of the next and final trilogy (I believe?) and it has me itching to dive back into this world.
Babel – R.F. Kuang
I actually started Babel and got about 25% in and was really enjoying it. The author has such an unique way or writing and storytelling. Babel got so many raving reviews and I really want to continue before I have to start all over again (if I don’t have to already, haha). I’m currently reading Yellowface and loving it, so I’ll catch up with this author a bit.
The Atlas Paradox – Olivie Blake
Last year the book club I’m in read The Atlas Six and I loved it more than I expected. I still haven’t started the sequel and the third and finally book releases this month. My boyfriend wasn’t a fan, but I still want to read and see what it’s all about.
Killer Content – Olivia Blacke
I have only read one or two cozy mysteries and keep saying I want to read more. Killer Content has been on my shelves for a couple of year, so it’s perfect to start with that one. Our main character is an up and coming YouTube star and investigates a murder she captures on a recording.
You and Me on Vacation – Emily Henry
You and Me on Vacation is the only Emily Henry book that is already out in the world that I haven’t read yet. I’ve loved all of her books so far, so I don’t think this one will be any different. They tend to be books I fly through.
The Cost of Knowing – Brittney Morris
The Cost of Knowing is another book that I’ve put on many TBRs and really should’ve read already. It’s been almost three years since it released and it still sounds so good. This author also wrote Slay and I loved that book. I’m hoping to love this one just as much.
So here are the other twelve books on my 24 books to read in 2024 list! Have you read any of these? What did you think? Let me know in the comments! I’d love to hear from you.
