WWW Wednesday #52

It’s Wednesday, so time for a new WWW Wednesday to talk about my reading progress and plans. I really love these posts and talking more about what I’m reading before the monthly wrap up. Even if my reading plans change I like thinking about what I’m going to read!

So it’s time for my next WWW Wednesday. This is a weekly meme hosted by Taking On a World of Words and you participate by simply answering three questions:

  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What are you currently reading?
  • What do you think you’ll read next?

What did you recently finish reading?

The Long Game – Elena Armas

The Long Game is a kind of enemies to lovers romance. It sounded like a book right up my alley, but unfortunately it didn’t work for me. I’m a fan of slow burn, but this was just a bit too slow. I also didn’t really connect with the characters that well. A baby goat definitely stole the show though, haha.

Five Survive – Holly Jackson

After loving Holly’s A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder series, I had to read Five Survive. Not a lot happens in this book, but that’s not surprising, because they’re stuck on an RV together. This story is so intense though and the author really made me not like one of the characters. I have to say I wasn’t expecting the ending of this book.

What are you currently reading?

A Holly Jolly Ever After – Julie Murphy & Sierra Simone

A Merry Little Meet Cute was one of my favorite holiday romances last year, so of course I have to read the sequel. I’m almost halfway through A Holly Jolly Ever After and I’m loving it. Kallum and Winnie are fun characters and they need their own happily ever after!

No One Is Alone – Rachel Vincent

No One Is Alone is a book I forgot about, but recently  discovered again when I did my most recent Down the TBR Hole post. This book is on Storytel, so I decided to listen to the audiobook. At the moment, I have about 2 hours left. I have to say it’s an emotional story. Our main character loses her mother suddenly and has to move in with her father she doesn’t see often. Only to find out she’s the result of an affair. Trying to figure out your life after losing your mother is hard, but finding out you have siblings and a step mom doesn’t make it any easier.

What do you think you’ll read next?

I’ve really been mood reading lately, so I’m not sure if these will be what I pick up next, but it’s what I’m wanting to read at the moment.

Girl Goddess Queen – Bea Fitzgerald

This Hades and Persephone retelling is one I’ve been wanting to read, but after meeting the author in October and hearing her talk about this book I’m even more excited. Girl, Goddess Queen is just shy of 500 pages, so it’s one I’ll be busy with for a bit.

Terms and Conditions – Lauren Asher

So Terms and Conditions is a book I started reading awhile ago. I got over 100 pages in and I was enjoying this marriage of convenience romance. As usual, I got distracted and continued with other books. It’s time I finish this one, because the third book in this trilogy is on my Christmas wishlist.

So that’s my WWW Wednesday for this week. What have you recently read? Or what are you currently reading? Let me know in the comments. I’d love to hear from!
