Bookish Item| December TBR

How am I already talking about my December TBR? The last TBR of 2023! I’ve said it often, but this year went by so quickly. As you know, I don’t always stick to my the TBRs I make, but it’s fun talking about the books I want to read at the moment. So keep on reading to find out what I’m hoping to read during the final month of 2023.

Group Reads

Finding My Elf – David Valdes

It’s December, so of course I have holiday themed reads. Finding My Elf is described as Single All the Way meets Simon vs. the Homosapiens Agenda and I loved both of those! Our main character hopes to find the “one” during Christmas break while spending winter break working at Santa’s village. This sounds like it’s going to be a cute read.

The Christmas Swap – Talia Samuels

Our main characters gets two weeks away from London, if she pretends to be Ben’s girlfriend. I love fake dating, so when I read that I added it to my TBR. Things get more interesting though. Margot ends up falling in love, but not with Ben. She falls in love with his sister. I can’t wait to read this.

eARCs

December doesn’t have many releases, but there are two eARCs I hope to read. Both sound like books that are right up my alley.

This Spells Love – Kate Robb

Can you imagine casting a spell to erase your ex from your past, but waking up her life is completely different and her ex doesn’t know who she is. Things get tricky, because she has to kiss him to reverse the spell. In the end I have a feeling this is going to have a feel good happily ever after.

Knives, Seasoning, & A Dash of Love – Katrina Kwan

I’m a fan of cooking shows, so when I saw this book had our main characters working in the kitchen I was intrigued. It seems that our main character lied on her resume and that her boss is a grump, but that she knew him before he got that way. Them butting heads is going to be interesting.

Backlist Books

As usual, I randomly pick three backlist books to read each month. Let’s see what books I get this month.

Wish You Were Here – Renee Carlino

This sounds like a book just for me. Our main character in Wish You Here feels kind of lost. Then one night she meets a man that seems to feel the same. They have an amazing night together, but when he gives her the cold shoulder the next day she’s confused. So she goes on a journey to find out what happened the next morning.

A River Enchanted – Rebecca Ross

A River Enchanted was a book I got in one of my Illumicrate boxes. After reading Divine Rivals recently, I’m even more excited to read more by this author. I’ve heard amazing things about this fantasy, so I hope I love it as much as I think I will.

Book of Night – Holly Black

Book of Night is another Illumicrate book I still haven’t gotten around to reading. In this world shadows can be altered for many purposes and our main character is a con artist. That’s all I know, but I’m intrigued.

So here are some of the books I’m hoping to read in this final month of 2023. Have you read any of these? Or tell me what you’re hoping to read in December? I’d love to hear from you.
