WWW Wednesday #36

It’s Wednesday, so time for a new WWW Wednesday to talk about my reading progress and plans. I really love these posts and talking more about what I’m reading before the monthly wrap up. Even if my reading plans change I like thinking about what I’m going to read!

So it’s time for my next WWW Wednesday. This is a weekly meme hosted by Taking On a World of Words and you participate by simply answering three questions:

  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What are you currently reading?
  • What do you think you’ll read next?

What did you recently finish reading?

Lizzie Blake’s Best Mistake – Mazey Eddings

I actually wasn’t planning on reading this before A Brush with Love, but seeing how they’re standalones I decided to grab this one. Lizzie Blake’s Best Mistake had me laughing and really invested in these characters. Lizzie is a character with some struggles, but also means well. I loved seeing her story and romance develop.

There Are No Saints – Sophie Lark

There Are No Saints is the start of The Sinners Duet and one I’ve heard amazing things about. I kind of want to say it’s like You, but a little darker at times? This was a very addicting read and I’m happy that there is a second book, because I’m not ready to be done with these characters yet.

Click’d – Tamara Ireland Stone

So for middle grade May I decided to start with Click’d. This book has been on my TBR for ages and I’m glad I finally picked it up. Middle grade books teach lessons in the best way and this one was another great example. Friendships and admitting that you need help can be heard, but an important lesson. I’ll be reading the sequel soon.

What are you currently reading?

Happy Place – Emily Henry

Like many readers, Happy Place was one of my most anticipated releases. At the moment I’m halfway through and even though a lot could probably be solved with some communication it’s great so far. This group of friends is so much fun to read about and I definitely get why they’re summer getaway is seen as a happy place.

A Darker Shade of Magic – VE Schwab

So I read A Darker Shade of Magic for the first time over 6 years ago, but never continued with the trilogy even though I loved it. A friend and I are buddy reading this and it’s been a lot of fun. I’ve forgotten a lot, so it’s good I read this again before continuing with the next book. The spinoff releases later this year, so I’ll be ready to read it!

She Is a Haunting – Trang Thanh Tran

Horror isn’t my normal go to genre, but I’m reading She Is a Haunting for a TBR and Beyond group read. I’m only a few chapters in and I’m not sure what to think yet. Not much has happened yet.

What do you think you’ll read next?

There Is No Devil – Sophie Lark

As I said earlier in this post, I loved There Are No Saints, so of course I have to start reading There Is No Devil. When this post comes online I’ll be reading the first few chapters. I’m hoping the conclusion will be just as good.

The Fraud Squad – Kyla Zhao

The Fraud Squad is my swoon read for May. While I’m not sure there is much romance, I thought it would be a fun book to read as a group. So far this book has received some mixed reviews, so I’m really curious where I’ll end up on this scale.

So that’s my WWW Wednesday for this week! Have you read any of these? Or what are you currently reading? Let me know in the comments. I’d love to hear from you!
