TTT #238 | Book Quotes

We have been having fun with Top Ten Tuesday, so we decided we will do one every week. This bookish meme was hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, and has been going since June 2010! Since January 2018 Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.

This week’s topic is Book Quotes. I love sharing book quotes as there are so many amazing ones! After a quick look at ones I’ve shared previously I picked 10 quotes to share with you all today. Apparently I shared a lot of the same quotes in previous posts like this so I tried to pick 10 different ones. Let’s jump in!

1.The Cruel Prince – Holly Black

If I can not be better than them, I will become so much worse.

2. The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue – V.E. Schwab

…it is sad, of course, to forget. But it is a lonely thing, to be forgotten. To remember when no one else does.

3. Dune – Frank Herbert

“The mystery of life isn’t a problem to solve, but a reality to experience.”

4. The Inheritance Games – Jennifer Lynn Barnes

“Everything’s a game, Avery Grambs. The only thing we get to decide in this life is if we play to win.”

5. A Deadly Education – Naomi Novik

“My anger’s a bad guest, my mother likes to say: comes without warning and stays a long time.”

6. Rule of Wolves – Leigh Bardugo

“Love was the destroyer. It made mourners, widows, left misery in its wake. Grief and love were one and the same. Grief was the shadow love left when it was gone.”

7. If This Gets Out – Sophie Gonzales & Cale Dietrich

“The freedom to be ourselves, and express whatever truest version of ourselves we know of to the world as we see fit, is the most important freedom we have.”

8. Heartstopper vol. 4 – Alice Oseman

“Love can’t cure a mental illness. There are lots of ways to help him, you can just be there. To listen. To talk. To cheer him up if he’s having a bad day. And on the bad days, you can ask what to could do to make things easier. Stand by his side, even when things are hard. But also knowing that sometimes people need more support than just one person can give. That’s love darling”

9. All Of Us Villains – Amanda Foody & Christine Lynn Herman

“Monsters couldn’t harm you if you were a monster, too.”

10. Ace of Spades – Faridah Àbíké-Íyímídé

“They say love and hate are the same, just at different ends of the blade”
