We have been having fun with Top Ten Tuesday, so we decided we will do one every week. This bookish meme was hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, and has been going since June 2010! Since January 2018 Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.
This week’s topic is books I was so excited to get, but still haven’t read. Oh, I definitely have more than ten of these, haha. Here are ten that come to mind now. Keep on reading to find out more!
Kingdom of Ash – Sarah J. Maas
Throne of Glass is one of my favorite series, but I still haven’t read the final book. I was so excited to read this one that Isabelle and I went to the bookstore on release day. So Kingdom of Ash has been on my shelf since October 2018.
Five Dark Fates – Kendare Blake
I think I see a trend going with this last having final books in a series, haha. Five Dark Fates is the last book in the Three Dark Crown series and I loved the first three books and short stories. When the novellas, second, and third book released I read them right away. Five Dark Fates was a pre-order, but has been on my shelf since release in September 2019.
Chain of Gold – Cassandra Clare
The Infernal Devices is my favorite series in the Shadowhunters world, so I was so excited about the spinoff of that – The Last Hours trilogy. Chain of Gold was delivered to me in March 2020 and I still haven’t picked it up. I even already own the sequel, Chain of Iron that will hopefully follow quickly after reading this one.
Finlay Donovan Is Killing It – Elle Cosimano
Finlay Donovan Is Killing It released in February 2021 and I had heard about it and wanted to read it, but it wasn’t until later in the year that this book was everywhere. So when a few friends of mine read it and loved it I ordered it in October 2021. I’ve added it to my TBR a few times, but haven’t picked it up yet. With the sequel already released I need to get on it.
Dance of Thieves – Mary E. Pearson
Isabelle and I read The Remnant Chronicles together and finished the third book in February 2018. So when the spin off duology Dance of Thieves was released I was excited to get more in that world. There was even a readalong scheduled I wanted to participate in, but ended up getting distracted. These hardcovers are stunning and I do still really want to read these books.
The Beautiful – Renee Ahdieh
The Beautiful is a series that I hear a lot of people raving about, but still haven’t read it. I even had an e-arc of this book that released in October 2019. Before it released I think I did read about 25% of it and enjoyed what I read. I believe the fourth book is releasing this year, so I think it’ll be time to start this one soon.
The Bookworm Crush – Lisa Brown Roberts
If I’m honest it was the title that attracted me to The Bookworm Crush. What I didn’t realize at first was that this is actually a interconnected sequel to The Replacement Crush. I finally read that one at the end of 2021, so I’d say it’s time for me to read The Bookworm Crush.
The Crown of Gilded Bones – Jennifer L. Armentrout
I loved From Blood to Ash and A Kingdom of Flesh and Fire, but for some reason I haven’t sat down to read The Crown of Gilded Bones. I received this one for Christmas if I remember correctly. I’ve heard some mixed reviews, but I’m always someone that likes reading books for myself to decide my own opinion.
We Can’t Keep Meeting Like This – Rachel Lynn Solomon
Rachel Lynn Solomon has become a favorite author of mine and I’ve been excited about We Can’t Keep Meeting Like This since the author announced this book. I don’t know why, but books with wedding planners tend to scream summer to me so it’s almost the season. I tried the audio, but the narrators weren’t working for me at the time.
Yes & I Love You – Roni Lauren
Yes & I Love You was another book that I was going to read for a readalong, but then got distracted. This romance sounds amazing and there are two books now out in the series. I happen to have an e-arc for the third book coming this summer, so I’d say it’s time I sat down to read them.

Great list. This week is such an interesting prompt and you did it great.
I read and re-read Kingdom of Ash 3 times already 😉
The Crown of Gilded Bones isn’t my favorite in the series, but I still recommend it. And Finlay Donovan Is Killing It is on my TBR, but I don’t own the book, although I’m looking forward to reading it.
Have a great week 🙂

You have some books on your list that I want to read too. I hope you get to some of these soon.
I was so excited for Kingdom of Ash until I realised I remembered next to nothing about what happened beforehand and I had the wild notion to re-read the whole series before finally reading KoA. It never happened 😂 I hope you enjoy these whenever you get to them!

I’m terrible at finishing series too haha. I haven’t finished either TOG or Three Dark Crowns. Maybe one day!
I completely understand putting off Kingdom of Ash, it’s huge!
