Tag | Days of the Week

Recently I stumbled across Zezee’s blog again and found some wonderful tags to do! And I also found this one there. The Days of the Week tag was originally created by Jay Dee Archer on Youtube. You have to pick a book based on things that are commonly associated with the days of the week, and that could be related to mythology or religion or anything you can think off. I’m a bit lazy so I just copies Zezee’s list of associations haha. Let’s jump in! This is a different days of the week tag than Candyce did last month!

SUNDAY
DAY OF THE SUN, WHICH IS REPRESENTED BY THE GREEK GOD HELIOS, KNOWN AS APOLLO BY THE ROMANS

I’ll admit this was a pretty obvious choice haha. The Trials of Apollo is one of Rick Riordan’s mythology series and I have to admit I haven’t read this one yet. I do want to though, I love how he weaves mythology through his stories and I always learn something new.

MONDAY
DAY OF THE MOON, WHICH IS ASSOCIATED WITH THE GODDESSES ARTEMIS, SELENE, AND HECATE

As soon as I saw Hecate I had to think about Chilling Adventures of Sabrina haha. However I decided to pick a book based on the moon part of it all. And a ‘horror’ one at that so I kinda fits with Sabrina haha. At least I think this is a horror, as I was terrifies haha. 172 Hours on the Moon is a book I mentioned before and will probably always be the scariest book I’ve ever read haha.

TUESDAY
APPARENTLY IT’S NAMED FOR TÝR, A NORSE GOD OF LAW AND HEROIC GLORY WHO WAS OFTEN DEPICTED AS ONE-HANDED AND WAS ASSOCIATED WITH MARS

Mars means time to mention The Martian again! I love this novel, it has one of the funniest openings in my opinion. And talking about it, I can’t believe I still haven’t watched the movie! I guess I will have to do so soon haha.

WEDNESDAY
DAY OF MERCURY. THE NORSE GOD WODEN, A.K.A. ODIN, WAS ASSOCIATED WITH MERCURY AND ALSO WAR, HEALING, WISDOM, DEATH, SORCERY, AND THE RUNIC ALPHABET.

This was probably the hardest one, I haven’t read anything with Odin in it and I couldn’t think of any. But apparently American Gods has a character based on Odin. So I’m picking this one! It’s one I’ve always been interested in, especially since the tv show.

THURSDAY
THOR’S DAY; NAMED FOR THE NORSE GOD OF THUNDER.

Another Rick Riordan book haha. I just couldn’t help myself ;). For this I choose Magnus Chase and the Hammer of Thor for obvious reasons. This is the second book in the Magnus Chase series. I really enjoyed the first one and I did plan on reading the next of the series at some point haha.

FRIDAY
DAY OF FRIGE, A.K.A. FRIGG, THE NORSE GODDESS OF SEXUALITY AND FERTILITY WHO WAS WIFE OF ODIN/WODEN

The name Frigg means love or lover so that had me thinking of romantic books. And one of my favorites is Red, White & Royal Blue. I loved the romance in this, and everything else about the books as well haha. It was so good!

SATURDAY
NAMED FOR THE ROMAN GOD SATURN, WHICH WAS CALLED KRONOS BY THE GREEKS, A PRIMORDIAL GOD OF TIME

I read God of Time and I immediately thought of This is How You Lose the Time War. At this moment, I’m kinda of reading it haha. I did start it but it’s been a while and I just have to finish it soon. It started so good and I can’t wait to see how it ends.

And that was the Days of the Week tag! It was really fun thinking about books that fit the days and it got me excited to pick up some books soon! What did you think of my picks? Let me now down below!
