We wanted to do another bookish meme on Wednesday and after doing Can’t Wait Wednesday a few times we decided that would be a fun one to bring around more often! About twice a month you’ll see this meme on our blog.
Can’t-Wait Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Wishful Endings, to spotlight and discuss the books we’re excited about that we have yet to read. Generally they’re books that have yet to be released. It’s based on Waiting on Wednesday, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine.
A woman struggling with burnout learns to embrace the unexpected—and the man she enlists to help her—in this heartfelt new romance by USA Today bestselling author Helen Hoang.
When violinist Anna Sun accidentally achieves career success with a viral YouTube video, she finds herself incapacitated and burned out from her attempts to replicate that moment. And when her longtime boyfriend announces he wants an open relationship before making a final commitment, a hurt and angry Anna decides that if he wants an open relationship, then she does, too. Translation: She’s going to embark on a string of one-night stands. The more unacceptable the men, the better.
That’s where tattooed, motorcycle-riding Quan Diep comes in. Their first attempt at a one-night stand fails, as does their second, and their third, because being with Quan is more than sex—he accepts Anna on an unconditional level that she has just started to understand herself. However, when tragedy strikes Anna’s family she takes on a role that she is ill-suited for, until the burden of expectations threatens to destroy her. Anna and Quan have to fight for their chance at love, but to do that, they also have to fight for themselves.
I don’t think a lot of people expect me to have this one my anticipated releases list, but as you can see I do! Two years ago I read the Kiss Quotient and The Bride Test, both were 4 star reads for me and I really enjoyed them. I’m not really a romance reader but these books were GOOD!
For me the autism rep was so interesting to read about. This is an own voices series for both the autism and the Vietnamese characters. I loved the point of views I got from these novels as they weren’t POV’s I had read before, or at least not a lot. The romance was also really cute and swoon worthy.
This book is going to be about Quan. A character we met in the previous books and a fan favorite haha. I can’t wait to read about him! This blurb is different from previous ones though and it seems like the books was possibly rewritten? I don’t know but I’m still very excited!
Have you read The Kiss Quotient and/or The Bride Test? And are you as excited for The Heart Principle? Let me know down below!
