Tag | Shadow and Bone Netflix Tag

Just 15 days and Shadow and Bone is life!! I am so incredibly excited for this Netflix show and I can’t wait to see it all come to life. This is a tag I found on Youtube, it’s a bit different from the usual tags we do as it’s all about the Grishaverse and not just book questions in general. Let’s jump in!

1) When did you start reading this series and how did you hear about it?

I think I first read the original trilogy in 2015. Probably because I heard about Six of Crows and wanted to read that haha. I read Shadow and Bone, Siege and Storm, and Ruin and Rising in no time at all. They were super fast reads! And I think I heard about Six of Crows on a blog!

2) Who is your most favorite character in the Grishaverse?

This is hard! I want to say Nikolai, but it’s a close call between him and Kaz. And maybe Zoya, she has wiggled her way into my heart since she was introduced in the first book.

3) Who is your favorite Shadow and Bone cast?

No Mourners, No Funerals, the Six of Crows cast will always be my favourite overall!

4) If you could get one of the Grisha Powers or the Crows talents, which one would you choose?

I’ve actually thought about this a lot and I just don’t know! There isn’t one power that really calls to me, maybe I’d want to be a Tailor. I’d love to make gorgeous and useful stuff!

5) Which crossover/character interaction do you wanna see the most between Shadow and Bones & Six of Crows series?

Kaz and the Darkling!! What will happen?! I need to know. These characters are both cunning and very clever and I can’t wait to see them interact.

6) Which scene from the books do you really want to see on the show?

Hmmm, I don’t have a particular scene in mind but I’m excited to see life at the Little Palace. And I can’t wait to see Ketterdam and all of the scenes there. Ketterdam is partly based on Amsterdam so I’m hoping for that feeling to have been transferred to the screen as well.

7) Whatโ€™s your favorite quote from the Grishaverse?

There are two I love very dearly! I just couldn’t choose so here are both of them haha.

“Na razrusha’ya. I am not ruined. E’ya razrushost. I am ruination.”

This one, and the next are both from Ruin and Rising, actually one of my least favourite books from all of them haha. But it does have amazing quotes! Here’s the next.

โ€œYuyeh sesh. Despise your heart. Ni weh sesh. I have no heart.โ€

8) Who are your most & least favorite couple and why?

My least favorite couple is Alina and Mal, because I really disliked Mal in the books. I actually like what I’ve seen so far in the trailers so maybe I’ll recant this opinion later on ;). And I have a lot of favorite couples other then them actually! Kaz and Inej are possibly my most favorite.

9) If you could go to the Grishaverse and become one of the book characters, who would you choose?

Not sure I’d want to be anyone haha. They’re all quite tragic haha. I think I would go for Zoya ( I haven’t read Rule of Wolves yet!) because I love her development throughout all of the books. And I actually ship her with Nikolai haha.

10) Which character inspired you the most?

Probably also Zoya! But I also have to mention Nina. She is so strong and kind and positive and caring. I really adore her and wish her all the happiness in the world. Hopefully she’ll get a happy ending in Rule of Wolves.

This was so much fun! I love the Grishaverse a lot and I’m thinking of rereading everything before the show haha. Hopefully my copy of Rule of Wolves arrives fast so I can dive into that one right away <3

  1. OOH I LOVE THIS TAG! It’s so fun, and your answers are brilliant! Also totally with you on not shipping Alina and Mal, really disliked Mal in the book. Kaz and The Darkling would be crazy tense and interesting, would be very intriguing to see! Great post! ๐Ÿ’œ

    1. Thank you!! A lot of people dislike Mal but I have a feeling we might like him better in this show. And I’m so excited for that undoubtedly extremely tense Kaz/Darkling scene haha. Let’s hope it’s in there!

  2. I read this series back in 2013! I loved it so much at the time and loved SoC even more, honestly – I can’t wait to see how it gets adapted!

    1. Can’t believe we read it so long ago!! I have really high hopes for this adaptation <3

  3. I read the first book a few years ago and wasn’t really grabbed. Now that there’s an adaptation coming to screen I’ll probably give it another shot. I did like what the Shadowhunters series did with Clare’s books, after all.

    1. I hope you end up enjoying them, but if you don’t, don’t push yourself! Maybe you’ll enjoy the show better. <3
