5 On My TBR | Planned to Read in 2020

A couple of weeks ago we started doing the 5 On My TBR bookish meme and it was a lot of fun, so we want to bring this meme to the blog more regularly! This bookish meme is hosted by E from Local Bee Hunter’s Nook. For this week the prompt is ‘planned to read in 2020’. There are so many books on my shelves I planned on reading in 2020 haha. For today I picked five of them. So let’s take a look!

1.House of Earth & Blood – Sarah J. Maas

I did start reading this but I still haven’t finished it. Sarah writes wonderful fantasy novels and she managed to break my heart within a few chapters. I do want to get back to this one early 2021 and I expect to finish it in no time.

2.The Merciful Crow – Margaret Owen

I got the Merciful Crow in March and I planned on reading it pretty soon after. But it didn’t happen and while I planned on picking it up a couple more times, I still haven’t read it yet. I have heard amazing things and I think this will be a quick and fun read.

3.Hollowpox: the Hunt for Morrigan Crow – Jessica Townsend

This is one of my most recent acquires and I was planning on reading it right away. But I was so busy these past weeks that I just didn’t have to energy to dive in. My coming weeks are still busy but not as busy as before so I hope to read more books. And I hope this will be one of them!

4.The Well of Ascension – Brandon Sanderson

Candyce and I planned on reading a Brandon Sanderson book every month and we managed to do so precisely twice haha. I loved the books we read so far and I really planned on reading the next Mistborn book. Hopefully I will read it in 2021 and some more Brandon Sanderson books right after!

5.Mortal Heart – Robin LaFevers

It’s been years since I read the first two books in the His Fair Assassins series and I’ve wanted to read this third one for years. I really thought this would be the year so I could also read the duology set in the same world. Maybe I should reread the first two books to refresh my memory before finally picking this one up?

I guess this post shows I haven’t read nearly as much fantasy books as I planned on reading! Next year I hope to read all of these and many more fantasy books. There are a lot more on my shelves that I have yet to read. Have you read any of these? Let me know in the comments down below!

  1. Isabelle you make me want to read Grave Mercy again! I also totally spaced on this meme but it sounds like a lot of fun! I think I am going to start fresh in January so that I can remember to get into that habit.

I hope you end up reading The Merciful Crow for sure. I loved that book and I know I still need to read the sequel but I am so glad I liked it more than I thought I would.
