We thought it was time for a fun new post every week. In the Royal Update one of us updates you about our personal life, bookish news, what we’re reading, watching and listening to and anything else that might apply to this post. We thought it would be fun to share a bit more about our personal lives and hope you think so too!

I can’t believe when I’m typing this that Christmas is already over! It’s something I look forward to all year long and then before I know it, it’s done. These past few weeks have been busy at work (especially with just about all stores being closed). This new lockdown really hasn’t changed much. I still only go to work and stay in my own bubble.

Christmas was really nice though. I had a nice day with my mother and boyfriend. We ate breakfast and then exchanged gifts (I was very spoiled and you’ll see my haul later this week). After that we all just relaxed until dinner. Saturday was my boyfriend’s birthday and we had his parents over for dinner. No one was sick or had symptoms and we kept our distance. It was still nice with a year like this to be able to at least do something a little bit normal.

There’s only a few days left in this year and hopefully we’ll have a better 2021. I hope everyone has a safe and nice New Year’s. I’ll be spending it at home with my boyfriend and mom. Nice and relaxing with some board games.

I think it’s a Christmas miracle, because I haven’t added any new ARCs to my Kindle since my last Royal Update. I guess it also helps that most publishers have a little break as well, haha. I’ll take it though!

Since my last Royal Update I finished One Way or Another, The Cheerleaders, Amari and the Night Brothers, The Darkest Star, Mind the Gap Dash & Lily and Ramona Blue.

At the moment I’m currently reading The Burning Shadow, The Ruins of Gorlan, Justice Calling and The Love Curse of Melody McIntyre.

This week I’m hoping to finish some books I’ve started and really need to finish reading. Also, I’m going to start A Deadly Education, Glimpsed and I’m going to finish reading Bone Crier’s Moon.

To be honest in all the hectic days leading up to Christmas and being exhausted when I got home from work, I didn’t really pay much attention to bookish news. I did see this cover reveal though and the book sounds amazing!

We’re in a full lockdown here until near the end of January, so all stores are closed. Besides the Christmas gifts I purchased the last few weeks I haven’t bought anything. I did receive a daily calendar from my boyfriend for Christmas (it’s not a book, so I won’t be including it in the bookahaul). I love Catana Comics. They’re so relatable and fun! Now I get one a day starting January 1st.

Since my last Royal Update my boyfriend and I finished watching Everwood. Instead of starting with The OC like we were thinking, we decided to catch up on Star Trek: Discovery. We were just about done with the second season and are now caught up with the third ones (they get updated weekly on Netflix). We also started watching Mr. Iglesias. This show definitely makes me laugh.

If I’m honest, I could listen to Christmas music all year round, haha. But I decided to start listening to something else. Spotify had a time capsule playlist with some older songs and I have to say it’s been nice hearing some of these songs again!
