I haven’t lived in the States for quite some time, but my family and I still have a small Thanksgiving celebration. It’s something I grew up with and plan on keeping this tradition going. So I decided to do something holiday related on the blog today with The Bookish Thanksgiving Tag!
This tag was originally created by Erin & Becca on YouTube. Let’s take a look at the prompts for this tag.
Bread- What book is purely fluff, and has no real plotline?
This is actually a hard one for me to answer. I read a lot of fluff, but most of these do have a plotline! Unsupervised is one with more fluff than plot, but it’s still so much fun. I was laughing a lot while reading this one.
Turkey- What book made you want to fall asleep?
Kind of a Big Deal is a book that wasn’t that exciting. I was really looking forward to a fun adventure of our main character being sucked into the books she was reading. Unfortunately, this didn’t meet my expectations.
Gravy- What book makes the whole series worth reading?
I love every single book in the Throne of Glass series (even though I still have to read the last book.. I know, I’m ashamed, haha), Empire of Storms really made all of the books worth it. Everything in this book is just perfect. Talking about it makes me want to read it all over again.
Stuffing- What book is stuffed full of action scenes?
A Curse of Gold starts with action and it doesn’t stop until the end. I did miss some character building and story development, but this was a fast and fun read. It’s definitely a good fantasy when you don’t want the heavier stories.
Mashed Potatoes- What book looked good, and then wasn’t?
Unfortunately, I’ve had a few of these this year. B*Witch was on these books. I loved the synopsis and what that promised, but the actual story didn’t turn out that way. There was just so much going on and a lot of POVs. I’m not really sure what I read.
Cranberries- What book has the sweetest romance?
I love romance, so I have so many that could fit this list. One that seems to pop into my mind a lot for prompts like this is Red, White and Royal Blue. Alex and Henry are just so sweet and I plan on rereading this book again soon. I’m also really excited about this author’s new book next year.
Corn- What’s the corniest book you’ve ever read?
One of the more recent cheesy/corny books I read was The Mall. There are a lot of cheesy moments and the book is pretty predictable, but it’s also a lot of fun! I loved all the 90’s pop culture references. I had a great time reading this one.
Green beans- What book is too long and needs to be shortened?
I’m not normally one who complains about long books. I’ve been thinking about this one for awhile, but nothing is coming to mind that fits this prompt at the moment.
Pumpkin Pie- What book do you read to get out of a reading slump?
For me it’s Harry Potter (I know all the issues surrounding this author, but they’re still my comfort books) and anything by Jennifer L. Armentrout. I honestly think Nevermoor could be added to this list as well.
Dog/Cat- What’s your favorite Thanksgiving food that you would steal from the table?
Thanksgiving food is always something really special. My favorite food I’d steal from the table is stuffing. It’s not something they really have in The Netherlands and I’m always thankful we’re able to get some here.
So this is The Bookish Thanksgiving Tag! I really enjoyed these prompts. I’m not going to tag anyone, because this is being posted on the holiday itself. Anyone who wants to do this one next year, feel free! What’s your favorite Thanksgiving dish (if you celebrate)? Let me know in the comments!
I’m laughing so hard because this tag is kind of negative which is even funnier considering it’s a Thanksgiving tag!
