Next week is Thanksgiving in the USA and I thought it would be fun to do a Thanksgiving tag. A couple of years ago Candyce did this Bookish Thanksgiving Tag and I’m going to do it again today. Let’s jump in!
Bread- What book is purely fluff, and has no real plotline?
Adorkable! I would love to read another book just like it. This book is pure fluff and it’s super cute. It has a nerdy character, a jock, best friends to lover through fake dating. All cute and all fluff and no surprises haha.
Turkey- What book made you want to fall asleep?
These days I won’t continue if I think a book is boring so this is a pretty difficult one to answer. A book that made me want to fall asleep in the past was The Beauty of Darkness. It’s book 3 in the Remnant Chronicles and you’d think a final book in a series would be engaging. Not this one unfortunately.
Gravy- What book makes the whole series worth reading?
I have to go with A Court Of Mist And Fury! That book is amazing and makes up for the rest of the original trilogy in my opinion. I enjoyed the first book but didn’t love it and I was a bit disappointed by the third book. But that second one…. Makes it all worth it for sure!
Stuffing- What book is stuffed full of action scenes?
The Defiant is a book I remember as being stuffed with action. It’s about gladiators so that makes sense for an action packed story I would say. But it’s also the second book in a series and usually those have a lot less action! So good job on this one.
Mashed Potatoes- What book looked good, and then wasn’t?
I was so sure I was going to love Night Film but it was a big miss for me. It had great reviews and it sounded like something I would really enjoy. But I just didn’t think it was written that well and I hated the ending.
Cranberries- What book has the sweetest romance?
It’s an oldie but I still swoon when I think of reading those books; To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before. That was one of my first contemporary, romance kind of YA books and I loved it so so much. I also adore the movies and kind of want to rewatch them now.
Corn- What’s the corniest book you’ve ever read?
Looking through the books I read, I came across the Fallen series and I think that is a great pick for this one. I did enjoy the series when I read those books but oh my was that predictable and corny haha. Truly an early 2000’s YA bookseries!
Green beans- What book is too long and needs to be shortened?
I actually really like long books when I’m enjoying them, I just want more and more of them. So I find it pretty hard to think of any big books that are too long. If I had to pick one, I’d go with A Storm of Swords, book 3 in the A Song of Ice and Fire series, that is probably the longest book I ever read and I don’t think it needed more than a 1000 pages.
Pumpkin Pie- What book do you read to get out of a reading slump?
A reread (especially through audio) usually does the trick. And sometimes there’s just a new book that pulls you right in. I think I usually have a fantasy book that just screams at me. This time around it was Godsgrave by Jay Kristoff.
Dog/Cat- What’s your favorite Thanksgiving food that you would steal from the table?
So since I don’t celebrate Thanksgiving, I’m not completely sure about my answer here. When I lived in London we did do a Thanksgiving celebration with my American friends and I did love the pumpkin pie we got. So I guess that would be my answer!
And that was the Bookish Tahnksgiving Tag! What did you think of the questions? And what book pulls you out of a reading slump? I would love to hear from you in the comments!
This was a fun article. Thanks!
