It’s been awhile since I’ve found a tag that looked like a lot of fun. I recently saw a tag that was posted on Twitter as a blog of the day. I saw The Out of My Comfort Zone Tag on Shaz Reads’ blog. I try reading outside of my comfort zone, but it can be hard. Let’s take a look at this tag!
A Book That Is An Exception When It Comes To Genres Or Elements You Don’t Typically Like
Let me start off by saying that I’m not a horror fan. I don’t like all the blood and gore and it’s just not for me. That being said, Wilder Girls got so much hype and I loved the cover, that I just had to give it a go! I ended up really enjoying this book, even though the ending was a bit unsatisfying.
A Book You Enjoyed From A Genre You Previously Held Some Stigma Against
Again, horror is always a genre I’m a bit weary about and that doesn’t appeal to me. #Murdertrending was a book I was really curious about. There is a show and app and people can watch prisoners’ getting executed. Some things were really extreme and I was surprised to see them in YA, but it was a suspenseful read!
A Book You Didn’t Know Was Out Of Your Comfort Zone Until You Started Reading It
Be Not Far From Me is a contemporary, so that’s a genre that I really enjoy. It’s also a survival story and I was listening to the audiobook. This book is written so well and I have to say it really took me along with the story. It’s also really realistic, because the main character describes her injuries and some of the extreme things she has to do. I wasn’t expecting that and it was definitely more out of my comfort zone than I expected.
Pick A Friend Who Motivates You To Pick Up Books You Might Not Normally Be Interested In – Is There A Book They Convinced You To Give A Try?
The covers of the Wayward Children series always appealed to me, but I never got around to reading them. I wasn’t really sure if the story was for me. So many friends of mine read this book and loved it, I couldn’t resist participating in a group read of this series. Every Heart a Doorway was so impressive and I loved all of the books out in this series so far.
A Book That Is Out of Your Comfort Zone, But You Would Like to Read
I was able to grab this on Netgalley not too long ago and it sounds really creepy. Like I’ve said, horror isn’t my thing. On Goodreads it’s labeled as horror and thriller. It doesn’t sound like something I would always read, but I need a good spooky read for Halloween. Maybe I’ll get to it sooner on a rainy day.
A Book/Genre So Outside Of Your Comfort Zone That You’ll Probably Never Give It A Chance
I’ll be the first to tell you that I love steamy scenes in my romances. Pure erotica is a different story. At first, I saw this book everywhere and a lot of readers were really enthusiastic. I recently saw a Booktube video saying that incest is something that enters this series and sorry, but that’s a big no for me!
So this is the out of my comfort zone tag (which ended up mostly being horror, haha)! It was really fun to think about and answer these questions. What’s a book out of your comfort zone that you’d like to read! Let me know in the comments. I’d love to hear from you.
