I’ve said this before, but I’ll say it again, Teagan Hunter is a go to author for me when I want a romance that will leave me smiling and make me laugh. She’s done that with her Texting series and now again with her Slice series. I’ve previously read A Pizza My Heart and I Knead You Tonight. They were so much fun that I was really excited about Doughn’t Let Me Go! I want to tell you what I thought about this book.
A big thanks to the author and Wildfire Marketing Solutions for providing me with an ARC to read and review.
It was just supposed to be one night.
When I read about Porter in a previous book, I knew I needed his story. I love the single dad trope and he seemed like a really interesting character I wanted to know more about. My wish was granted when I heard about Doughn’t Let Me Go! Teagan Hunter did not disappoint with this new story in the Slices series.
Porter is a single dad who hasn’t had it easy in his love life or childhood. He has been able to build up a company and is a workaholic. He’s definitely book boyfriend material and I loved how his daughter was his everything. That being said, Kyrie was such a cute character. I definitely wouldn’t mind seeing her get her own story in the future!
“I like broken things, and I like fixing them. Funny, because I’m broken too, but I can’t seem to ever get myself put back together just right.”
Dory is the nanny with her own difficult past who doesn’t really believe in love. She works hard and has such a huge heart. I wanted her to have her happily ever after from the start. Dory can be tough, but means well, even when she’s trying to protect her own heart. My favorite part of the book was seeing her slowly let down walls and let herself love. Even if I did want to yell at her and tell her to open her eyes, haha. That’s really just a compliment to this author’s writing, because that’s how invested I was in this story!
Doughn’t Let Me Go is kind of forbidden romance, but I loved the slowburn side of it. Yeah, there were feelings, but it took awhile for them to give in. It was a lot of fun to read about. This book defintiely had me laughing and I ended this book with a big smile on my face. Add some steamy moments and this definitely has all of the romantic comedy elements that I love and need in a book.
“He’s perfection in that imperfect kind of way.”
An added bonus was seeing all of the characters I’ve come to love from the previous books. They’re such a fun group of people and I don’t think I’ll ever have enough about them! I can’t wait for the next book Teagan Hunter writes!

I’m a Missouri-raised gal, but currently live in North Carolina with my US Marine husband and 9-year-old dog. I spend my days begging him for a cat, and I survive off coffee, pizza, and sarcasm. When I’m not writing, you can find me binge-watching various TV shows, especially Supernatural and One Tree Hill. I like cold weather, buy more paperbacks than I’ll ever read, and I never say no to brownies.
Writing is my passion, and this is just the beginning of my journey.

Doughn’t Let Me Go was really fun and I can’t wait for the next book in this series. I really hope that Sully gets his own story! He’s the quiet one I’m really curious about. What is your favorite romantic comedy? I’d love to hear about them in the comments!
I love series like these, where you get characters from other books. Definitely one I need to pick up 🙂 Happy reading and fantastic review!
