Teagan Hunter is an author I watch out for since her Texting series. A Pizza My Heart was the first book in the Slice series and it was a quick and fun read! The next book, I Knead You Tonight, is out in the world today and I want to talk about this wonderful book!
A big thanks to the author and WIldfire Marketing Solutions for providing me with an ARC to read and review.
I Knead You Tonight is the second book in the Slices series, but can be read as a standalone. We meet Drew and Winston in A Pizza My Heart and I was very curious to see where their story would go. Drew is the funny best friend and Winston is the brother who has seen as lazy and a stoner. There is more to both or their stories and I just couldn’t get enough.
Drew hasn’t had an easy life, she had to grow up way too soon and had to always work really hard. When she got pregnant unexpectedly, she was hoping the father would stick around and help her out, but that didn’t happen. Now she’s doing her best to give her son everything he needs. I loved Drew. She felt like such a real and genuine character. Teagan Hunter definitely made us feel for her. She works so hard to provide for her little boy, but just couldn’t get back on her feet. Drew feels guilty and insecure, but she started getting more confident during this book and I thought that was done in such a subtle but amazing way.
Winston hasn’t been the same since a car accident a few years ago. He wasn’t always a hard worker, but since the accident he’s been seen as a lazy stoner basically. Winston didn’t show up for work at the family business and would do so without notice. I had a feeling there was a lot more to his story than meets the eye and I was right! My heart broke for him while reading what he’s going through. Winston was dealing with a lot of fear and insecurity. I guess he just needed a sarcastic and loud woman to get him going again.
Drew and Winston had me laughing out loud so often while reading this book. I read it in one sitting! While I enjoyed A Pizza My Heart, this one had me hooked just a little bit more. I really came to care for these characters and little Riker. I Knead You Tonight is a heartwarming romance and she brought all of the emotions to life these characters were feeling. I am always amazed when authors can make me feel like that.
Besides the heartwarming and laugh out loud moments, I Knead You Tonight was also pretty steamy, haha. Drew and Winston both had their own demons to fight, but came out stronger together and dared to go after their dreams. This isn’t a story I’ll be forgetting anytime soon. Also, readers will get a fun glimpse into Wren and Foster’s life and it won’t disappoint!

I’m a Missouri-raised gal, but currently live in North Carolina with my US Marine husband and 9-year-old dog. I spend my days begging him for a cat, and I survive off coffee, pizza, and sarcasm. When I’m not writing, you can find me binge-watching various TV shows, especially Supernatural and One Tree Hill. I like cold weather, buy more paperbacks than I’ll ever read, and I never say no to brownies. Writing is my passion, and this is just the beginning of my journey.

Romance and pizza – a fun mix!
I love when the side characters in the first books get their own story later on. I feel like that’s what happened here with this one. Great review, Candyce!!
Thank you! And you’re correct, exactly what happened here!
It sounds like you really enjoyed this one. I might keep an eye on this one in case I need something new to read in this style and genre.
I definitely sugges it! This author’s Texting series is amazing as well.
