Unboxing | Secret Santa Swap 2019

On Christmas Eve we were finally allowed to open our boxes for the Secret Santa Swap our friend Kwante hosts. A couple of weeks ago we shared our wishlists and now it’s time to show which books and goodies we received from this fun holiday swap!

I’ve been looking forward to this swap since I signed up for it earlier this year. Christmas Eve was a really busy working day for me, so it’s was a nice thing to have to come home to. I’ve never been disappointed, but this year I was really spoiled! I couldn’t believe all of the stuff I found in my box.

As you can see that box was pretty big. I love how it’s decorated and couldn’t wait to open it.

As you can see, the box was really filled to the top. I couldn’t wait to dive in, after reading the poem on top. The person who made this for me definitely put in a lot of time and effort.

I’ll start off by showing the little extras I got. I have a Gryffindo and Grinch card, washi tape, stickers for in my bullet journal and a Groot print. I love Groot, so I was excited that there’s also a Groot bookmark with a tree charm attached to it. And last, but not least, a ACOTAR bookmark. I love these little personal touches.

I also won’t go hungry this holiday season. I received chocolate, fortune cookies and candy canes. I love mug with the warmer around it and will definitely be using it for my warm drinks during the colder weather. I also received a tea and tea filters (I didn’t know this was a thing, but it’s such a cute idea). Also, look how cute the little Santa bag is!

The fun didn’t stop after that though. I received a really soft glow in the dark blanket (I’ve never had one of those before),a sturdy booksleeve and three books. The Darkest Star is one I had an ARCย  of last year, but still needed to add to my collection. The Paper & Hearts Society and The Bookish Life ofย  Nina Hill are two books I’ve heard a lot of positive things about, so I hope to read them soon!

I’m still surprised about how much effort was put into this swap box. I love each and every thing I received. I will definitely enjoy everything this holiday season!

Kwante does an amazing jobs with her bookish swaps! She is pretty strict with her rules but this ensures everyone always gets a wonderful box filled with bookish awesomeness. I love her a lot and know how much effort she puts into everything, I don’t think anyone else can do it as well as she does <3. Enough fangirling about her though haha, let’s take a look at my box!

First off, I love how this box looks. My Secret Santa obviously put a lot of effort in my box and I’m so grateful. It was a long to look at it while waiting for unboxing day! I love that she painted it, it was so Christmas-y and it was BIG. So what was it filled with?

I already took out some Christmas ornaments before I thought of taking this picture. It really made for a wonderful Christmas box. I enjoyed getting so many Christmas things and we immediately used it to decorate the house even further.

Look at this super cute mug! I couldn’t wait to use it during Christmas and I’m already looking forward to next year to use it again haha. Obviously those chocolate Christmas balls and the candy cane didn’t survive that long ๐Ÿ˜‰

A close up of the gorgeous goodies I got! I also have pictures of the individual goodies so you can see them a bit better. Let’s take a look at those.

Look of these gorgeous bookmarks! The first one has a wonderful quote from the ACOTAR series by Sarah J. Maas. I love the typography, it just looks amazing. Up next is a wooden bookmark, such a great invention. The quote is from Outlander, another amazing series. I should pick up the fourth book soon! And the last bookmark has our blog name on it! I love how much effort my Secret Santa put into this once again. It looks so beautiful, the typography is amazing and I used it right away.

The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is one of my absolute favorite shows at the moment so I’m very happy with this candle I got. Of course the color of the candle fits perfectly and I have a card with Sabrina art from the same creator so they look great together. Harry Potter will forever be my favorite and I’m a Ravenclaw so I’m super happy with this patch. Now I just have to find a good place to put this on!

The most important part of the box haha! I had quite some books on my wishlist and that always makes for a surprise to find out which books someone picked for you. Last week I told myself I should read more scifi in 2020 and I here I am with two new wonderful scifi books! Scythe by Neal Shusterman has been on my wishlist for quite a while. Candyce loved it a lot and I hope it will live up to my expectations. I have a lot of Brandon Sanderson books on my TBR and basically the only ones I read are the YA scifi ones haha. So I figured it would be okay for me to get another Brandon Sanderson book; Skyward. The reviews have been raving so I can’t wait to read it.

So this is all of the amazingness I got! I’m incredibly happy with the content of my gorgeous box. It was once again a lot of fun to participate in this swap and I’m already looking forward to the next.

Participating in swaps like this is always a lot of fun! Have you ever participated in a secret santa swap? We’d love to hear about it if you did.
