Wishlist Wednesday | Christmas Swap Wishlist

As with Halloween we’re currently both participating in a bookish Christmas swap. We love putting together bookish boxes for others and can’t wait to find out what someone else got for us. Whenever we have to make a wishlist for these kinds of swaps we always struggle, haha. There are a ton of books we would love to have, we just can’t think of any when you ask us ;). In the end we did manage to put together our lists and today we wanted to share them with you all. So let’s take a look at our Christmas Swap Wishlists!

Candyce

The Darkest Star – Jennifer L. Armentrout I actually read an ARC of this one and loved it!! LUX is a favorite of mine, so I needed the spinoff. It didn’t disappoint, but I haven’t added it to my shelves yet. The sequel is out and that’s on another wishlist.

Bringing Down the Duke – Evie Dunmore This book caught my eye because of the cover at first. On top of a great cover, the story sounded great as well. A friend has read Bringing Down the Duke and was a big fan. It sounds like something I’ll love, so fingers crossed.

Jackaby – William Ritter I somehow missed this series being published. The first book released in 2014, but I only recently heard about it when a few people in the bookish community started talking about it. It sounds like something I’ll like, so I want to give the first book a try.

The Paper & Hearts Society – Lucy Powrie A good contemporary is something that always make me happy and I have heard amazing things about it. Add a main character that loves books and I need it ASAP! Seems like the perfect book to read after an intense fantasy book.

The Bookish Life of Nina Hill – Abbi Waxman After seeing “bookish” in the title, I didn’t even need to read what it’s about before deciding I needed to read it. A few people I know have read it and thought it was cute. This seems like another fast and cute read that I need in my life.

The Princess and the Fangirl – Ashley Poston Geekerella is a favorite book of mine and I’m shocked to say I haven’t read this one yet. It’s not really the sequel, but more of a companion novel. I love “nerdy” books, so I need to make sure I read this one!

Isabelle

The Eye of the World – Robert Jordan
– I’ve been wanting to read this series for quite awhile now and with the tv show coming fairly soon I think I should get started as soon as I can. Candyce’s boyfriend really enjoyed this series and keeps telling me to read it haha. These are the original covers I believe and I would love to collect this edition. This is a pretty big series so I’ve got quite some reading to do, however it’s nice to know the series is completed.

The Foxhole Court – Nora Sakavic – Apparently this one is once again unavailable but when I added it to my wishlist it really was, I promise haha. I’ve added this one to a bunch of wishlists before but it is hardly ever available, I might just need to buy this one myself as soon as I see it. It’s been forever since I read the synopsis, I believe it has something to do with a boarding school and a made up sport? But don’t quote me on that!

A Big Ship at the Edge of the Universe – Alex White – Another one that has been on my list for a while now! It’s a pretty expensive one and I haven’t heard that much about it. But the things I did hear were amazing and I think I would really enjoy this. I’ve been in the mood for more science fiction, I don’t read that genre a lot but I did read some great sci-fi books. It would be great to find some more <3

Orange – Ichigo Takano – Another one that has been on multiple wishlists. It really depends on the person making my box, because most don’t gift manga or graphic novels but I always slip one or two in haha. For my Halloween wishlist I think I only had 3 or 4 ‘regular’ novels but they were still all I got haha. This is supposed to be a pretty hard-hitting manga and I can’t wait to finally get this one.

The Grace Year – Kim Liggett – My friend Kwante LOVES this book so so much so I had to add it to my wishlist right away. I actually read the first chapter or so from the Dutch edition and was even more hooked! This might be one of the ones I want the most out of all of these. I haven’t read The Handmaid’s Tale yet but I might watch the tv show soon and this is supposed to be a YA version. So it would be great to see how it compares.

Skyward – Brandon Sanderson – Of course I need another Brandon Sanderson on my TBR. I have so many of his books on my shelves and hopefully next year will be the year I read all of them. The ones I did read are the YA ones so this might be one I’d pick up sooner. I’ve seen a lot of great reviews for this one and I’m excited to finally get another sci-fi read.

Keeper of the Lost Cities – Shannon Messenger – This MG adventure fantasy series actually hasn’t been on my radar for that long yet. But since I heard of it, it seems like it keeps popping up more and more and I’ve heard some great things about it. It’s currently an eight book series and there will be a least one more so I’ve got quite some books to get to if I love the first haha.

Scythe – Neil Shusterman – I’m so surprised I still haven’t read this one yet! Candyce absolutely loved it and with The Toll releasing everyone is talking about this series. This is another sci-fi and like I said, I really want to read more of those. The concept sounds super cool and I really enjoy the covers. Hopefully I can add this one to my shelves soon!

The Tea Dragon Society – Katie O’Neill – And another one that has been on my wishlist for ages haha. I’ve heard nothing but raving reviews for these graphic novels and if the cover gives us any indication the art will be stunning!! And it’s about dragons, and cute dragons at that <3

Dance of Thieves – Mary E. Pearson – I really enjoyed the world Mary created in the Remnant Chronicles. However I was a bit disappointed by the final book in the series. I had to wait until this was released in paperback so it would go nicely with my other series. Since I did really like the world, I have pretty high hopes for this one. The synopsis sounds super interesting!

These are books we really want to read and hope to find a couple in our Christmas swap boxes. If you’ve read any of these, let us know what you thought! Are you participating in any holiday swaps?

  1. I’m not in any Christmas swap boxes this year. I was in four last year, only got one box, so it ended up being a complete bust and I was bummed. This year money is tight so no fun to be had for this gal. Hopefully you get a few of these, though!

    1. Oh no that’s really bad! We’re participating in a swap hosted by a friend of ours and she’s running a super tight ship. She’s doing an amazing job at making sure everyone will receive a wonderful box
