Last week the first half of the fifth and final season of Fuller House dropped on Netflix. And since I was just sitting at home, recovering from my surgery, I watched all of the episodes in one go haha. Candyce did a Show Sunday about Fuller House before, but with this new season I needed to do another post haha. Let’s get into it!
In a continuation of Full House (1987), D.J. Fuller is a mother of three young boys and is a recent widow. D.J.’s sister Stephanie, her best friend Kimmy and Kimmy’s teenage daughter all move in to help raise her sons. The house is now a lot fuller.
Last year I binge watched Full House and the first four seasons of Fuller House. I really enjoyed both shows, such fun and quick episodes with wonderful characters. While these are comedies and thus mostly funny, they also have some very heartfelt moments and I definitely shed some tears haha.
We start the fifth season pretty much exactly where we left the characters after the season four finale. It starts off with quite some funny moments but this first episode had me shedding some tears as well. I think I loved every single episode in this season and I’m pretty sad I went through it in one day haha. Especially since the ride is almost over! We’ll be getting 9 more episodes in this season and that will be the actual end of the era. I don’t think there will be another ‘revival’ so after this we’ll have to live with rewatching both amazing shows.
While I did really love this first half of the final season, I did miss somethings. There was a lot less focus on all of the kids and I think that is such a shame. They are all amazing, and I wish we would’ve gotten more storylines involving them. I hope we get a little more of that in the second half, although I don’t think that will be the case. Luckily this did mean we got a lot of focus on D.J., Stephanie and Kimmy and their relationships. I especially adore Jimmy so the more we see him, the better 😉
All in all, these were 9 wonderful episodes. I loved where the story is going and I can’t wait for the last 9 episodes. Not only did I laugh, but I also cried a bit. I would highly recommend watching this series and this season, but maybe pace yourself a bit haha.
