We thought it was time for a fun new post every week. In the Royal Update one of us updates you about our personal life, bookish news, what we’re reading, watching and listening to and anything else that might apply to this post. We thought it would be fun to share a bit more about our personal lifes and hope you think so too!
It’s been almost two weeks since my surgery so life has actually been pretty boring since then. I had to rest for 5 days and was allowed to slow put some weight on my leg after that. There wasn’t much I could do and I really had to take it easy these last two weeks. I did play a TON of Sims 4 and build the Lego Hogwarts Express I bought in Disney.
No ARC’s this week! And that’s a good thing because I have wayyyy to many haha. I am making it a priority to get on top of my ARC’s next year.
I didn’t read as much as I wanted after my surgery, I mostly listened to audiobooks and I’m currently listening to the last Harry Potter book. This will forever be my favorite series and this is the second time this year I’m listening to the audiobooks haha. I finished The Wicked King last week so I also started reading The Queen of Nothing.
For the Magical Readathon I’m still catching up on last week’s prompts. I’m currently reading The Martian (orange cover) and Monstress vol. 3 (graphic novel or manga). It was a good reason to finally pick these up and I’m enjoying both. Hopefully I’m on to the next prompts by the time you’re reading this 😉
There’s hardly been any bookish news this week. I have one piece of news and I have some amazing other news. First off the bookish news. Tessa Gratton has a new book coming out, Night Shine. It sounds pretty amazing in my opinion! I have so many Tessa Gratton books I’m interesting in and I can’t believe I still haven’t read one. Recently I did finally buy one her books, Strange Grace and I hope to read that one soon.
As you might know, I LOVE the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina on Netflix, and they finally announced the release date for part 3. I have been waiting for this announcement since April and I’m happy to say it’s releasing SOON! Now I just need a full trailer to tie me over <3
Other than Christmas presents, I haven’t been buying anything! Can you actually believe that? Pretty insane right haha. I did buy some cute goodies for the Christmas swap we’re participating in. We had to post our boxes on Saturday so I should receive mine pretty soon. It’s going to be hard to wait until Christmas, when we can finally open it! I bought two cute Disney candles and a little bag of Velaris tea. Hopefully my swap buddy will be happy with it <3
As you might’ve seen in my Show Sunday, I watched the first half of the final season of Fuller House. What a fun show, I’m so sad it will be ending soon. I also watched the second season of Dynasty. It had been quite awhile since I watched that show, but I got completely sucked back in. Unfortunately the Dutch Netflix doesn’t have the rights to show every episode the day after it airs in the States so I probably have to wait ’till May before I can watch season 3. I also started watching V-Wars, I think I’m a little over half way through the first season and I’m definitely enjoying it! When looking for a simple but fun series, I decided on a rewatch. I started at the beginning with Gilmore Girls and I’m enjoying every second of it!
Since I knew I was going to be home a lot after my surgery, I also waited until then before watching some of my weekly shows. This way I got the binge a couple of them, the ones I’m now up to date with are: Riverdale, Nancy Drew, Bluff City Law (PLEASE DON’T CANCEL THIS SHOW), Legacies and Prodigal Son. These are also some of my absolute favorite shows at the moment <3
Spotify released their yearly lists and I love that a lot! It’s always a lot of fun to see the artists you listened to the most and your favorite songs of the year. Since this playlist was released, I have been listening to it non-stop. I think it’s great to remember what you listened to all year, as it also brings back a lot of memories! And yes, I’m totally listening to this playlist while writing this post 😉
