Tag| Christmas Songs Book Tag 2019

As a big fan of Christmas, I knew I needed to do a few holiday tags in December. I’ve decided to start off with the 2019 Christmas Songs Book Tag created by That Artsy Reader Girl. Christmas music is something I’ve been listening to since the end of November. Let’s take a look at the prompts and my answers.

“All I Want for Christmas Is You”: Favorite bookish couple.

I have way too many bookish couples to choose just one favorite. So I decided to choose one that I read about recently. Gavin and Thea from The Bromance Book Club definitely found a place in my heart. I loved this book and would love more about these two amazing characters.

“I’ll Be Home for Christmas”: Name a book where a character is away from home (school, vacation, etc.).

My first instinct was to choose Harry Potter, but I decided to go for something else. So today I’m choosing Sawyer from Little White Lies. Her grandmother makes her a deal she can’t refuse and ends up staying at her house. Let’s just say things get very interesting once she moves in.

“Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas”: Name your favorite “little” book (children’s book, short story, novella, etc.).

Again, I have read some cute short stories and novellas this year. With this being a Christmas song book tag, I will choose three favorite holiday novellas. I can’t choose just one. I loved Special Delivery, Naughty or Nice and The Way Back. All three of these have amazing characters and definitely increased my holiday spirit!

“Santa Claus is Coming to Town“: What book(s) do you hope Santa brings you this year?

I have so many books on different wishlists this year. We’ve already shared two of our wishlists. One was posted yesterday and the other one you can find here. I also made a list for my mom and boyfriend, but I have a feeling I’ll be getting a lot of those, so I rather share those in my haul!

“Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer”: Which book turned your nose red (made you cry)?

While reading, I’m definitely the type that gets emotional. I connect to the characters and have definitely been known to shed a tear or two. The most recent book that made me cry was 10 Blind Dates. There are some family things that definitely get a bit emotional. Definitely the perfect book for this time of year though!

“The Most Wonderful Time of the Year”: Your favorite book/kind of book to read during the holidays.

During the holidays I love Christmas themed books. I’m a big fan of Hallmark Christmas movies, so anything like that will make me happy. Every once in awhile I don’t mind a book not getting a happily ever after, but during this time of year it really needs to have one! I need the cozy/happy feelings.

“We Three Kings”: Your favorite trilogy.

Once again, how can I choose just one?!? It’s also extremely hard to think of different trilogies I’ve finished this year, haha. One of my favorites was the Redefining Me trilogy. These authors write about some difficult subjects, but in such an amazing way. I loved all of the characters.

“Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow”: A character you would love to be snowed in with.

I would love to be snowed in with Alex and Henry from Red, White & Royal Blue. These characters were so amazing and I loved their story. I really hope this author gives us more, because I hated when the book was over. This book is definitely on my re-read pile for next year.

“Last Christmas”: A book that seriously let you down.

For quite awhile this year, I was really looking forward to Gideon the Ninth. This was a really hyped book and what I heard about it had me really curious. Unfortunately, this book didn’t hold up to my expectations. Gideon the Ninth left me confused and not connected to the characters at all. I won’t be continuing with this series.

“White Christmas”: An upcoming release you’re dreaming about.

We’re about a month away from the release of A Heart So Fierce and Broken. A Curse So Dark and Lonely was so good!! I’ve been wanting this sequel since I finished the first book. The readers that have gotten ARCs have all been really excited, so it’s definitely on the top of my list of books I’m dreaming of!

This tag was a lot of fun. All of these songs are Christmas classics I enjoy listening to this time of year (even though I do get sick of Last Christmas after awhile, haha). What upcoming release are you dreaming about? I’d  love to hear about the books I need to keep an eye out for. Also, I tag anyone who loves Christmas songs. Please let me know if you end up doing this tag though! I love seeing other people answer these questions.

  1. I love Christmas too! My partner groaned as soon as he saw those hallmark movies popping up on Netflix coz he know’s I’ll be binging them! I also loved some of your choices here. I’ve seen some good things about some of them but I haven’t read any of them.
