Bookhaul | November 2019

The last month of the year started so today we have our November bookhaul for you all. This is one of the last bookhauls for this year so we’re getting close to our total bookcount for 2019, haha. In October we both bought more than we had planned on, will it be the same this month? Let’s take a look!

Candyce

Earlier this month, I was actually really proud of myself, because at the end of the month I was only going to have three books to add to my collection. That definitely changed a bit with the Amazon.de sale and Dutch Comic Con. I ended up adding a total of 9 books to my collection! Let’s start off with the originally planned additions to my bookish collection!

Girls of Storm and Shadow – Natasha Ngan

I actually ordered this book this summer. Fairyloot announced a signed edition and I couldn’t resist with this beautiful cover. I’m ashamed to say I still need to read the first book. On top of that I have a digital e-ARC I need to read, haha. Planning that out didn’t go to well for me. The gorgeous sprayed edges definitely make it worth it though!

The Bromance Book Club – Lyssa Kay Adams

For month I’ve been hearing nothing but amazing things about this book! The Bromance Book Club has been on my radar for that long. I was so happy to finally get my hands on this book. As I’m typing this, I’m already reading it and loving every minute. This one is definitely going to be high on my favorites of 2019 list!

Get a Life, Chloe Brown – Talia Hibbert

Another book that I’ve heard nothing but amazing things about. Chronic illness isn’t something you see in romance books or any books really that often. I love that authors are starting to add these characters to books. They’re just as realistic and maybe even more so than most character in stories. I have a feeling I’m going to love this one and I’m reading it for the group read in TBR & Beyond in December.

Then when Isabelle and I were blogging, we heard about the sale Amazon.de was having. After Isabelle had ordered some books, I looked into a few of those titles. In the end I added four books to my order. I only ended up spending 15 euros for all four, so I can’t complain. That’s normally barely enough to buy one!

An Assassin’s Guide to Love and Treason – Virigina Boecker

For some reason I thought this book was older than it is. An Assassin’s Guide to Love and Treason released last year and looked like something I would love. Historical fiction is something I want to read more of, so for this price I couldn’t pass it up. I’ve heard some mixed reviews, but I need to read it for myself.

10 Blind Dates – Ashley Elston

As a fan of holiday stories, this one was on my wishlist. So again, when I saw how cheap it was I didn’t even doubt it. On top of that, Isabelle and I are participating in TisTheSeasonAThon and this is the group read. Another perfect reason to get this book!

Ship It – Britta Lundin

Another book I’ve wanted since it released last year, haha. Especially after seeing what the harcover looked like under the dust jacket (will have to post a picture of that soon!). Ship It sounds like a really cute story and one that won’t take me long to read!

Not Even Bones – Rebecca Schaeffer

Not Even Bones is described as Dexter meets This Savage Song. I’ve never seen Dexter, but I loved This Savage Song. Horror is a genre I tried for the first time this year and really enjoyed! More than I expected if I’m completely honest. I figured why not give it another try with this book!

Just when I thought I was done, I headed to Dutch Comic Con with my boyfriend and Isabelle. I was really good until I saw the version of a book I really wanted and hearing an author talk about her series. I was sold after that interview.

Call Down the Hawk – Maggie Stiefvater

The Raven Cycle is a favorite series of mine and I’ve been excited about Call Down the Hawk since the author announced it! I actually had this on my Christmas wishlist, but not this cover. I honestly don’t care much for the US cover, but this one is stunning! I saw a copy at Dutch Comic Con and couldn’t resist! I hope to read it very soon!

Level Grind – Annie Bellet

Before last week I had never heard of Annie Bellet. She was also at Dutch Comic Con and I loved listening to her at the panel. Her Twenty-Sided Sorceress series sounds something I will love. Also, she was there, so I needed to have it signed. Level Grind is the first four novellas in the series. I have a feeling I’ll fly through these novellas!

Isabelle

I was supposed to take it easy on books this month because I always get a ton of books in December. But then the Amazon.de sale happened and I went to Dutch Comic Con. So if you read those posts you already know I failed! I got 20 books this month…. Oops!

10 Blind Dates – Ashley Elston

I’m super excited for this one and will be reading it this week for the TisTheSeasonReadAThon. It was hard to not start reading it right away as I’m super excited for it. This is a Christmas book so I can’t wait to get even more in the Christmas mood.

Call Down the Hawk – Maggie Stiefvater

Of course I had to get Call Down the Hawk. I love Ronan so I have been looking forward to this spin off of The Raven Cycle for forever. The US cover is so ugly but I had to get this book, so you can imagine how happy I was when I opened my package and saw this cover.

The Sky Weaver – Kristen Ciccarelli

While I still need to read the second book in the Last Namsara series, I did preorder the third book. There was a great international preorder campaign going on and I always want to support those. I do hope to continue this series soon.

Saga vol 7 – 9 – Brian K. Vaughan

I currently own and read the first 4 volumes of Saga but since these were half price I figured it would be smart to go ahead and get these. This is such a fun series and I can’t wait to continue reading it. I already looked at buying vol 5&6 so I can binge read the rest of the series haha.

Scales & Scoundrels vol 2 – Sebastien Girner

I recently read Scales & Scoundrels vol 1, which was a very enjoyable read. When I saw vol 2 for a good price at Dutch Comic Con I knew I had to get it right away. I will probably read this one pretty soon.

Level Grind – Annie Bellet

At Dutch Comic Con Candyce and I attended a panel with R.F. Kuang and Annie Bellet. Annie was super fun to listen to and her work sounded interesting so we both decided to buy a book by her. This is a bind-up of the first four novellas in her The Twenty-Sided Sorceress series. I’m super excited to pick this one up and think it will be pretty fast-paced.

These next books are the ones I got during the Amazon.de sale so I won’t go into detail about them. If you want to read more, you can look at the bookish item I did about it!

Ship It – Britta Lundin

The Assassin’s Guide to Love and Treason – Virginia Boecker

Magic Misfits: The Second Story – Neil Patrick Harris

These Divided Shores – Sara Raasch

The Lovely and the Lost – Jennifer Lynn Barnes

Acquicorn Cove – Katie O’Neill

Save the Date – Morgan Matson

The Beholder – Anna Bright

Not Even Bones – Rebecca Schaeffer

Strange Grace – Tessa Gratton

Grim Lovelies – Megan Shepherd

Space Opera – Catherynne M. Valente

So these are all the books we bought this month! December is going to be nuts as well, haha. We’ll be ending the year with a bang. What books did you buy this month? We’d love know. Also, if you’ve read any of these let us know what you thought in the comments.
