Tag | End of the Year Book Tag

It’s that time of the year again! The End of the Year Book Tag pops up everywhere and this year I want to do it on time haha. While the name might sound like you should do this tag at the actual end of the year, aka somewhere in December, the questions are a lot better to answer if you do it somewhere in October or early November. So here we are! Let’s get started.

Are there any books you started this year, you need to finish?

I was about to say no, but that is a lie haha. A while ago I started Girl Made of Stars, and that is a friend’s book, so I should definitely finish that one. I also really want to finish Godsgrave, I started it in September I think, and I really enjoyed what I read so far so I should get back to it.

Do you have an autumnal book to transition to the end of the year?

I think Five Dark Fates is a very good pick for this. It’s another book I already started reading, and I think this series has a very autumnal vibe to them. Just look at the covers! I’m also very scared to keep on reading, this is one of my favorite series and I’m scared it won’t end to my liking. One of my friends did already read it as she warned me that there would be some shocking twists and I don’t know if I’m ready for that!

Is there a new release you’re still waiting for?

Two books I’ve been looking forward a lot released on Tuesday, Call Down the Hawk and Deadly Little Secrets. I hope to have both of them by the time you’re reading this, otherwise I’m still eagerly waiting to get my hands on them 😉 Another release I’m very excited about it Blood Heir, but I do have an eARC for that one, so I should read that one soon. Other than that I’m mostly looking forward to 2020 when we’ll have a ton of amazing releases once again.

What are three books you want to read before the end of the year?

If I do finish Godsgrave, I also plan on picking up Darkdawn. After loving Nevernight I want to read the whole series soon and prevent coming across any spoilers by accident. Also everyone is still talking about these books now and I would love to join in on that. I also hope to read The Lies of Locke Lamora, there is a read along going on in November and I really planned on participating in that one. Lastly I want to read The Cruel Prince to see if I should continue that series and live in the hype or if it simply isn’t for me.

Is there a book that you think could still shock you and become your favorite?

I sure hope so! Although I pick up a lot of books I’m expecting to love, there are always books you’re not completely sure about. Most books I mentioned I’m expecting to give at least 4 stars. One that might surprise me could be one I bought recently, Sawkill Girls. I’m not completely sure what to think about this one and totally forgot what it’s about!

Have you already made reading plans for 2020?

I haven’t made that much plans yet, but will for sure do a reading goals post closer to the end of the year. As always I’ll set a Goodreads goal, and that will probably be at a 100 books again. While I did read more than that this and last year, I’m very much okay with that goal. This way I can also focus on other goals, like reading more big books. That will probably be a goal next year as well!

This was the End of the Year Book tag! I had a lot of fun answering these questions and went down a couple of rabbit holes searching for some things actually haha. What are some of the last 2019-release you’re looking forward to? Tell me in the comments!
