Tag | ‘The 100’ Characters Book Tag

Last week was the season finale of The 100 so I thought it would be fun to do a the 100 themed book tag. Hopefully you know how much I loved this show, I did two posts for it last year. I absolutely loved the last season, and I can’t wait for season 7. But it’s so sad it will be the last one, although I’m happy they know when it’s ending so will get a satisfying end (or at least I hope we do haha). I found this tag, the 100 characters book tag over at booktwisterreviews. This tag is a bit older so some of these characters are no longer with us, some new and important ones aren’t mentioned. But I thought it was wonderful and a little bittersweet to look back at these. Let’s get into it!

Clarke Griffin
A character who makes the tough choices

The first character that comes to mind is AIDAN from the Illuminae files. This is a very different character from what we usually read in YA and I loved them to death. Our crew goes through some very trying times and there are some tough decisions that need to be a made. And AIDAN is the one who’s willing to do whats necessary.

Bellamy Blake
A character who is more than what he/she seems

In a totally different way than Bellamy, Karou is someone who is more than she seems. At the end of the first book in the Daughter of Smoke and Bone trilogy you learn something about Karou’s past and I for one wasn’t expecting that at all!

Raven Reyes
A character who is the brains of the operation

The first character that comes to mind is Kaz from Six of Crows. He’s definitely the brains of their operation and I love figuring out what he thinks off next. Apart from being the brains of the group, I do think Kaz is a very different character from Raven haha. Raven tries to do the right thing in every situation and while I love Kaz, he is a criminal πŸ˜‰

Octavia Blake
A character who finds himself/herself

Elide from the Throne of Glass series is a character that finds herself near the end of the series. We meet her later in the books and she really comes into her own on her journey. Elide is very smart and resourceful and I loved seeing her use that to her advantage more and more.

A character caught between two worlds

Mark Blackthorn from The Dark Artifices is caught between the Faerie realm and the Shadowhunter world. To make matters even worse, he’s also caught between two lovers haha. I think The Dark Artifices are my favorite Shadowhunter books and Mark’s storyline is so interesting.

Jasper Jordan
A character who suffers a great tragedy

Tessa from Follow Me Back has gone through something horrible. But when you start the book, you don’t know what that is yet. She has agoraphobia and hasn’t left her room in a while. I really enjoyed reading about Tessa and finished this book in one evening!

Monty Green
A character who is often underrated/overlooked

I feel like no one ever talks about Winter from the Lunar Chronicles. It’s probably because she got introduced as last out of all of the main characters. But she’s always overlooked. Winter has a pretty tragic past and I really liked her as a character.

Abby Griffin
A kickass Book Mom/Dad

Since I read mostly YA books, this is a very difficult one! I often name Molly Weasley and recently Alex Claremont-Diaz’s mom from Red White & Royal Blue. There are however also some badass grandma’s in books. And one I came across just this week is Willa’s grandma from Under the Lights. Grandma Ames works incredibly hard to support her family, is very loving and stands up for what she believes is right. I wish everyone has a parent or parental figure like her.

Marcus Kane
A character who redeems himself/herself

I don’t want to spoil anyone, but there’s a character in the Shades of Magic series by V.E. Schwab that fits this one perfectly. It’s possible I used this one in another tag as well haha, but it’s just the perfect character for this question! I’m positive you’ll know who it is if you read the whole series.

A character who sees the world differently than his/her peers

Meira from Snow Like Ashes has a different look on the world compared to the other people in her world. This isn’t really prevalent in the first book, but from the second book it really starts to show. Because my idea didn’t completely line up with hers I had some trouble with her decisions sometimes haha.

John Murphy
A character who just can’t catch a break

Nikolai from the Grishaverse can’t seem to catch a break! There’s always a problem he’s facing and he has gone through some very rough times. I adore him so so much and am so happy he got his own duology. But of course that also means more problems for him πŸ˜‰

Oh how I love these characters! This makes me want to rewatch the whole show haha. Also, this tag was way harder than I anticipated! Tell me your favorite badass parental figure and someone who’s always overlooked. I’ll be down in the comments to chat to you!
