Show Sunday | Veronica Mars – Season 4

After years of waiting last week it was finally time! Season 4 of Veronica Mars. Veronica Mars has always been one of my top favorites shows of all time. So you can imagine my excitement over this new season years and years later. I had been watching the trailer over and over and this week I was finally able to watch all 8 new episodes. So let’s talk about them today!
There will be some spoilers if you haven’t watched the first 3 seasons

Panic spreads through Neptune when a bomb goes off during spring break. Veronica and Keith are hired by the wealthy family of one victim injured in the bombing to find out who is responsible.

Season four is set a couple of years after the movies. Veronica still lives in Neptune and lives together with Logan. We get to see a ton of old characters and even more of them are mentioned in this new season. this was one of the things I adored a lot in these eight episodes.

The story line is also intriguing and I really liked the mystery. This time around it was only the season long mystery without little ones in every episode. It was nice to have all focus on the bigger mystery for once. The bombing is quite the mystery and I enjoyed how it all played out a lot! I was on to some of the elements but definitely didn’t guess all of it!

Veronica is definitely all grown up and we get quite some adult content in this fourth season. As most of the people who watched the show growing up have become adults themselves, I think this fits the show very well. The themes are dark, as they always were. I personally adore Logan Echolls so I was happy to see him again in the season. He has come such a long way since we first met him as the ultimate bad boy. Logan has gone to therapy and I adore him even more than I already did. This time around, Veronica is truly the bad seed in their relationship but it seems like she will finally make some changes at the end of the season.

And talking about the end of the season… If you haven’t watched this season yet this might be the moment to stop reading if you don’t want any spoilers. I won’t go into details but you might be able to guess some of the things that happen 😉

The ending was truly heartbreaking. I kept saying, no this isn’t happening and went on to saying, no they didn’t truly did this, but it looks like they did ;). There is a tiny sliver of hope, that they left us with this heartbreaking ending, only to pull a twist if there will ever be season 5 but if I’m being honest I don’t think that’s the case. My heart still hearts, even though it’s been almost a week since I saw that last episode. But I can see why they made this choice. And hopefully season 5 will be better for it. We can only wait and see!

Have you seen season 4? What did you think of that ending?! And did you like the season in general? Talk to me in the comments!
