If you’ve follwed the blog for awhile, you know Isabelle and I are addicted to TV shows as well as books. I watch way too many shows, but recently Netflix added all seasons of Glee and I couldn’t resist watching it all over again. After watching the first four episodes again, I just had to talk about it!
When a High School Spanish teacher, Will Schuester, becomes the director of the school’s failing Glee club, New Directions, he hopes to be able to rejuvenate it. The club competes in the choir competition circuit. It’s been called “a High School Musical for adults”, the series follows the club and its mixture of oddball members as they try and restore it to its former glory. It is a musical comedy in which the eager and ambitious students not only compete to win the Nationals, but also have to deal with the tough and cruel realities of their school, McKinley High. At the same time, Will is trying to rejuvenate his failing love life whilst preventing the school’s cheer leading coach Sue Sylvester from sabotaging the choir.
Glee is a show I wasn’t sure about when I first started watching it, but it’s become one of my favorites. Glee club isn’t seen as something fun or popular in the beginning, but there are a few students who really want to give it a go. Take a group of ‘misfits’ trying to find their way and add a few popular kids (who may or may not secretly want to destroy the club).
What I loved the most about Glee was how close this group of students does become and how hard they work at getting to Nationals. I really came to love all the characters and seeing them grow. Glee has an amazing casts of performers who love what they do. Besides the life lessons, friendship and family they all develop during this story, there are some amazing musical aspects. A lot of favorite songs get covered. Also, add some really bad humor that it’s funny and you won’t be able to resist watching more.
Besides the trailer, I can’t help but recommeding going to YouTube and searching the songs they’ve done. A perfect way for you to see what it’s all about. If you’ve watched Glee, what was your favorite cover performed in this show?
