Bookish Item| June TBR

After a horrific reading month in April, I decided to skip a May TBR and just see where the month would take me. I’m finding my reading groove again, so I decided to set up a June TBR. As usual, I don’t tend to stick to these, but I do try. These are the books that are calling to me at the moment! Let’s take a look.

Group Reads

Our Rogue Fates – Sarah Glenn Marsh

Our Rogue Fates is going to be my swoonalong read in June! I’ve read fantasy books by Sarah Glenn Marsh before and enjoyed them. I believe that this is Sarah’s adult debut? This is a male/male childhood friends turned adversaries to lovers romance. I have a feeling this will be a lot of fun!

Starsight – Brandon Sanderson

This month we started Skyward in our series slayers group. Starsight is the second book. I haven’t looked at the synopsis because I’m not done with Skyward yet. It’s always great to continue making progress in series.

eARCs

I ended up with more eARCs for June than I realized…. Oops! Here are a few I’m really excited about. I’m actually excited about them all, but there are too many to talk about.

Down with the Shipmans – Meg Mitchell Moore

After reading some literary fiction, I’ve come to realize that I enjoy stories about families. Down with the Shipmans is a summery drama about three sisters who return to their family summer home. They find out their father plans on selling the house. I have a feeling emotions are going to be running high in this book.

The Lowe Job – Grace Alexander

The Lowe Job is another book that follows a family. Except this time, these women are thrust into the spotlight after a scandal. I can’t stand drama in my actual life, but I love reading about it. All I know is we have a group of sisters.

The Great Outdoors – Kayla Olson

This book sounds like the perfect summer romance. Our main character is a high maintenance woman who wants to prove to her ex she can be low maintenance by joining a wilderness trek. I wonder how long it’ll take before she actually is low maintenance.

Sequels

In May I decided to try and get to some special editions and I did pretty well. I think June is going to be a month where I try and get to some sequels and catch up with/complete a few series. A couple of the contenders are:

Boundless – Cynthia Hand

When I read Unearthly, I was pleasantly surprised. After having this on my shelves for over nine years, I really need to finish the series. It may be a bit predictable, but I’m having a great time. I want to know how Clara’s story is going to wrap up.

The Wings That Bind – Briar Boleyn

The Bloodwing Academy series has been fun so far! I ended up way more invested than I was expecting. The Wings That Bind is book three and I’ve heard some mixed reviews. In this one part of the story is probably going to shift a bit. I’m still really curious to see where this goes.

And Now, Back to You – B.K. Borison

I need to add some contemporary books in the mix with all the fantasy I want to read. And Now, Back to You is one I’ve wanted to read since it released. I just keep getting distracted. This is a When Harry Met Sally inspired romance about two competing meterologists. First-Time Caller was a lot of fun and I’m expecting to experience that with this one as well.

Physical TBR/Backlist

These Summer Storms – Sarah MacLean

These Summer Storms was added to my TBR last year and the title alone screams a summer read. June sounds like a great month to curl up with this one. And again, we have a story about family. A wealthy New England family at that. I have a feeling there will be lots of drama.

The Compound – Aisling Rawle

I remember The Compound being everywhere when it released last year. The Compound does seem to be one of those books that you either love it or you don’t. It does have a reality TV show element to it and I love that in books. Time for me to read it myself.

Problematic Summer Romance – Ali Hazelwood

I’m sensing a bit of a summer theme here this month, haha. Ali Hazelwood is one of my favorite authors and I did really enjoy Not in Love. I remember hoping for this couple to get a book after reading it and here is Problematic Summer Romance. After this I need to read Mate and I’ll be caught up with Ali’s books.

So here’s my June TBR. I’m really hoping I get to all of these. If it was up to me, I’d be reading them all at once right now, haha. Have you read any of these? What’s on your June TBR? Let me know in the comments. I’d love to hear from you!
