Bookhaul | April 2026

The first third of the year is over! That’s such a crazy thought. It is the first of the month and that means we look back at April. Today is April’s bookhaul. What books did we add to our shelves this month? Keep on reading to find out!

Candyce

In April I added 21 books to my shelves. My March Fairyloot books are in this haul as well as my March & April Illumicrate books. They’ve been being delivered later these days. Some of these are releases I was excited about and some comfort books I needed to cheer me up a bit while life was lifing.

Aicha – Soraya Bouazzaoui

Another stunning Illumicrate edition! Aicha is a story I’ve seen around a few times and it has caught my eye. This is a story about Morocco’s warrior goddess. It was pitched for fans of The Cty of Brass and The Stardust Thief. I loved The City of Brass, so I’m excited!

Star Shipped – Cat Sebastian

Since I also love TV shows as much as I love reading, Star Shipped was one I knew I wanted to read. So I was very excited to get this Afterlight editions. Books with romances between two co-stars (even that start off as enemies) are something I tend to love.

Thistlemarsh – Moorea Corrigan

Thistlemarsh isn’t one I had on my radar, but it sounds intriguing. I will say that this edition definitely has me even more excited. Our main character strikes a deal with a faerie. We all know that’s going to get complicated.

Enemies to Lovers – Alisha Rai

The cover to this Afterligth edition is so different than the original cover, but I’m not mad about it. A romance between a con woman and a lawman? That blooms while they’re trying to save their families? Sign me up!

Her Hidden Fire – Clíodhna O’Sullivan

In the world of Her Hidden Fire magic tends to be for the elite. That being said, our main character (a servant girl) realizes she can draw power. I know that’s going to be interesting.

The Wicked Sea – Jordan Staphanie Gray

While I don’t think this is necessarily a Little Mermaid retelling, it definitely gives me those vibes. So a mermaid-warlock romance is what we’re getting and I’m intrigued.

The Last Starborn Seer – Venetia Constantine

Our main character is the last member of an ancient bloodline. That’s something that will always make for an interesting story and this edition is stunning. Fairyloot has really been outdoing themselves with these beautiful books.

A Condition Called Love Vol. 14 & Vol. 15 – Megumi Morino

I decided I needed to add some more manga to my shelves and I’m loving this series. There are only a few more volumes currently available, so I think I’m also caught up!

My Love Story with Yamada-kun at Lv999 Vol. 6 – Mashiro

The first five volumes were a lot of fun in this series and I’ve been waiting quite some time for volume 6 to be released. I have read this one already, but I do think I should’ve done a little refresher before reading this one. It’s something I’ll definitely do before volume 7 releases.

The Moon on a Rainy Night Vol. 4 – Kuzushiro

So I loved the first two volumes when I got them for Valentine’s Day this year. I wanted to continue, so I ordered volume 3 & 4. Volume 3 was delivered damaged, so I sent it back. When I ordered it a second time I got a copy with a tear in the cover. I need to return that and order it again for a third time.

American Fantasy – Emma Straub

As a big fan of boy bands growing up, American Fantasy caught my eye. Our main character goes on cruise where her favorite boyband will be performing. That’s definitely a dream!

Innamorta – Ava Reid

I’ve heard Innamorta is a pretty dark book and it’s caught my eye a few times. This UK cover is stunning, so I thought, why not add it to my collection?

Conform – Ariel Sullivan

After loving Daggermouth, I decided that I need all dystopian romances. Conform is one I’ve been seeing everywhere, so it was time to check out the hype. I read it in just about one sitting, so I understand the hype.

Beneath – Ariel Sullivan

Ariel Sullivan is writing the series for Conform, but also a prequel series that intertwines in that story. Beneath just released and after loving Conform so much, I’m glad I grabbed this as well.

Bulletproof – K.M. Moronova

Bulletproof is the next book in K.M. Mornova’s Dark Forces world. I enjoyed the books that take place in this world so far and I love the sprayed edges on these books.

Rites of the Starling – Devney Perry

Of course I had the sequel to Shield of Sparrows pre-ordered. At first I was worried I wasn’t going to get the pretty sprayed edges, but when my copy showed up I was very relieved. This one is on my list to read in May.

Mistakes Were Made – Lucy Score

Mistakes Were Made released in March and my copy didn’t arrive until the last week of April! I’m glad it finally arrived though. I can now read Story of My Life and Mistakes Were Made back to back.

Frozen by Stardust – Elizabeth Helen

I actually forgot that Frozen by Stardust was releasing in April! Last summer I read the first four books in this series and loved them all. It’ll be interesting to see where this series goes next. I love that we’ll be getting books six and seven this year as well.

NoFear – Tate James

Tate James is an author that writes amazing why choose romances and she’s the queen of cliffhangers, haha. NoFear is her newest release and I love this cover. I need to read the prequel novella, so I can dive into this series.

Ryder – Jessica Peterson

Ryder is the last book in the Lucky River Ranch series and I have the first four with pretty sprayed edges. I loved Cash, so I need to read the rest of this series soon. I’ve heard that Ryder is an emotional one, so I’ll have my tissues ready.

Isabelle

April started off as badly as March ended, I had a bit of a mental breakdown halfway through the month. Turned out to be one of the things I needed haha. Towards the end of April I started to get more into a reading groove again and got myself 2 ebooks! Can you believe that?!

Heated Rivalry & The Long Game – Rachel Reid

My Heated Rivalry obsession has paid off haha. I just had to read the book this show was based on and since the books aren’t on KU, I decided to just get the ebook. After reading Heated Rivalry literally in 1 day, I also bought The Long Game haha. Now I’m close to buying the rest of the series….

So that’s our April bookhaul! Have you read any of these? Or what did you add to your shelves that you’re really excited about? Let us know in the comments. We’d love to hear from you!
