WWW Wednesday #109

It’s Wednesday, so time for a new WWW Wednesday to talk about my reading progress and plans. I really love these posts and talking more about what I’m reading before the monthly wrap up. Even if my reading plans change I like thinking about what I’m going to read!

So it’s time for my next WWW Wednesday. This is a weekly meme hosted by Taking On a World of Words and you participate by simply answering three questions:

  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What are you currently reading?
  • What do you think you’ll read next?

What did you recently finish reading?

April has been a pretty bad reading month for me. We had some bad things happen, so my reading definitely isn’t anywhere near where it normally is. Thankfully, I’ve finally been able to read a couple of things.

Mad Mabel – Sally Hepworth

I didn’t really know what to expect going into Mad Mabel, but I wasn’t expecting to tear up at the end. This book has Mabel (an 81 year old woman) as a main character and she was the youngest girl to be convicted of murder in Australia. There’s definitely more than meets the eye and when things happen her past starts to come back to haunt her in some ways. I appreciated this being told in “now” and “then” chapters. It really brought the story to life.

First and Forever – Lynn Painter

I’ll read anything Lynn Painter writes and First and Forever was more proof in why I do that. This fake relationship between a diehard fan and a football star can get pretty complicated and makes you not know what’s fake anymore, but it was so good. First and Forever was heart-warming, funny, and I read it in just about one sitting.

What are you currently reading?

Happy Ending – Chloe Liese

Chloe Liese wrote one of my all time favorite romance series (Bergman Brothers), so she’s another author I will read anything by. At the moment, I’m about halfway through and I’m having a great time. Our main character recently divorced and pretends to be the first love to his new girlfriend’s ex. I know that sounds pretty complicated. This definitely has her looking at herself and what she wants. Happy Ending is definitely more than a romance.

The Twelve Loves of Christmas: An Advent Romance Collection

So I don’t normally love short stories, but this collection of twelve stories has stories from quite a few authors I love (Jessica Joyce & Olivia Dade for example). I recently got an eARC and even though this doesn’t release until September, but when I’m stressed Christmas is my happy place. I’ve only read one story so far, but I had fun!

What do you think you’ll read next?

In all honesty, I have no clue what I’ll be reading next. My reading and mood is really all over the place, so I’m letting that decide what I read.

Conform – Ariel Sullivan

Conform is a book I’ve heard nothing but amazing things about and I think it’s time for me to finally curl up with this book. The prequel story just released recently, so I have more of this world to dive into.

So that’s my WWW Wednesday for this week! What have you been reading lately? Let me know in the comments. I’d love to hear from you.
