We have been having fun with Top Ten Tuesday, so we decided we will do one every week. This bookish meme was hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, and has been going since June 2010! Since January 2018 Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.
This week’s topic is Books About/Set In Places on My Bucket List. I don’t think I really have a bucket list, but I do have some places I would love to visit. Now I just have to find books set at those places haha. Let’s see how far I get!

1. Japan: Before the Coffee Gets Cold – Toshikazu Kawaguchi
I have this one on my TBR and I’m really curious about it. Japan has been my number 1 wishlist place to go to and I should read more books set there. This book sounds amazing and I have high hopes for it.

2. Iceland: Last Rituals – Ysra Sigurdardottir
I didn’t know any books set in Iceland, but I do really want to go there. Years ago I was supposed to go there, but unfortunately it didn’t happen. This book is a detective type novel, something I really enjoy. I think this could be just my kind of book.

3. A Safari: No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency – Alexander McCall Smith
I really want to go on a safari at some point, so of course I had to pick a book with those vibes. This book is set in Botswana, not exactly during a safari since it’s set in the capital. But nevertheless, I thin this book will bring the vibes I was envisioning for this pick!

4. New Zealand: A Madness of Sunshine – Nalini Singh
Australia used to be the place I wanted to go, but I have switched to New Zealand haha. This is a mystery/thriller and it’s written by an author a couple of my reader friends really enjoyed. So I have pretty good hopes for this one and might actually add it to my TBR!

5. Rome: Love & Gelato – Jenna Evans Welch
This one used to be on my TBR years ago and I might have even started reading it a bit. YA contemporary books just aren’t my usual genre, they never have been and now they are even less the types of books I tend to gravitate towards. I do think I might have enjoyed it if I had read it years ago. Rome is one of the places in Europe I would love to go to and I think this book will have the vibes I’m looking for.

6. South-Korea: Rebel Seoul – Axis Oh
The second place in Asia I would love to visit! This book pick is a sci-fi story and I really like that. I have said it before and I’ll say it again, I need to read more sci-fi books! They usually are amazing and I think this one could really bring something different to the genre.

7. Scotland: Outlander – Diana Gabaldon
Happy to have at least one book that I have already read haha. I loved Outlander and for now I have been stranded somewhere in the middle of the book series. At some point I would also like to continue watching the TV show, but then I also need to continue reading the books. I would love to visit Scotland, I’m sure it is beautiful.

8. New Orleans: Interview with the Vampire – Anne Rice
The one place in the USA I would love to visit (in another political climate though) and this is one of the original books set there. I really need to read this classic fantasy book and I would also love to watch the TV show based on the book.
Not a complete list, but these places are actually bucket list places for me! So I figured I would keep the list a little bit shorter. I haven’t read most of these books, but I am now curious about them! Have you read any of these? I would love to hear your thoughts on them down below!

Great list, would definitely recommend New Orleans! I’m enjoying seeing people’s travel wishlists as much as I am their book choices this week.
