TTT #420 | Books on My Spring 2026 To-Read List Part 2

We have been having fun with Top Ten Tuesday, so we decided we will do one every week. This bookish meme was hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, and has been going since June 2010! Since January 2018 Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.

This week’s topic is Books on My Spring 2026 To-Read List. Last week Candyce share her Spring 2026 To Read list and today it’s my turn. I don’t really make TBR’s for myself, but I do like to think about the books I would like to read. So let’s jump in!

1. Dune Messiah – Frank Herbert

I’m currently rereading Dune and I finally want to read Dune Messiah after that. After seeing the trailer for the third Dune movie, I have to get ready haha. I loved the first book and I adored the movies, so I have high hopes!

2. The Secrets We Hide – Karin Slaughter

This is Karin Slaughter’s 2026 release. It will be published in June, so that just counts as spring right? I plan on reading it as soon as it comes out, so for me it fits on the list ;). This is the second book in her newest series and I’m definitely excited.

3. The Broken Cage – Nora Sakavic

I’m pretty sure this will be released pretty soon and that means I will be reading it very soon! This book is going to destroy me, but I can’t wait to for it. I adore this series and these characters and I hope they all end up happy.

4. Apprentice to the Villain – Hannah Nicole Maehrer

I loved the first book, it was laugh out loud funny for me and after that cliffhanger I wanted to continue the series right away. Somehow I just didn’t do that and that’s such a shame. This seems like a nice spring read, I can already picture myself in my garden in the sun reading this.

5. SpyXFamily (vol. 6 & 7) – Tatsuya Endo

Talking about reading in my garden on a sunny day, having a good manga will be great for those days as well! I adore this series, it’s so much fun! The characters are great and the story is interesting, I can’t wait to dive back in.

6. Witch Hat Atelier (vol. 5 & 6) – Shirahama Kamome

It’s been a while since I read the first 4 volumes in this manga series, but I do remember enjoying it a lot. The art is gorgeous and I really enjoyed the characters and the story. I’m excited to come back to this story and I hope I’ll enjoy it as much as I did before.

7. Bloodwitch – Susan Dennard

This one has been on way too many lists like this for me. I adored the series and I really want to go back to it (like I have said many times as well haha). Maybe it’s because I’m scared that I will be disappointed, but I really hope this spring is the time I find my way back to the series.

8. The Poison Daughter – Sheila Masterson

I have read a bit of this one already and really enjoy it. The story is about to actually start and I hope to read all of it this spring! It’s refreshing to read a standalone story, it’s not something I do that often.

9. Dark Fae – Caroline Peckham & Susan Valenti

Another one I have already started, I’m actually pretty far along already but I have put it down for too long. It’s not the best book ever, but I am interested enough and I want to know how it all ends.

10. Space Opera – Catherynne M. Valente

It looks like I’m back in my sci-fi era! I’m already listening to Dune and I pretty sure I want more after Dune Messiah. This is the perfect time to finally get to this one. It’s a space opera (are you surprised with this title haha) and I think the tone will be very different from Dune. I’m excited to find out!

These are 10 books I hope to read this spring. Reading 10 books will already be a bit of a challenge to be honest haha, hopefully I will get to these! What books are you planning on reading this spring? Let me know down below!
