Bookhaul | January 2026

The first month of the year is already over! January can be a month that feels like it takes forever but goes by in the blink of an eye at the same time. Today it’s time for our bookhaul! Did we add any new books to our shelves? Let’s find out!

Candyce

In January I added 23 books to my shelves. January was still a bookish month for me. I had quite a few pre-orders and used some of my bonus and gift cards to add some books to my shelves.

King of Ravens – Clare Sager

I think this edition of King of Ravens is my favorite cover of my January haul. Our main character is dying and must go to the underworld or see her family die? This is going to be an interesting one!

Graceless Heart – Isabel Ibanez

Graceless Heart is a book I keep hearing amazing things about. This is also a standalone! That doesn’t happen often when it comes to fantasy stories. There is an immortal family. That’s all I want to know before diving in.

The Swan’s Daughter – Roshani Chokshi

Look at how stunning this edition of The Swan’s Daughter is. Marriage means murder because of a curse. How can I say no to a story with that?

Wild Reverence – Rebecca Ross

Letters of Enchantment was such an amazing and magical duology, and I’ve been excited about Wild Reverence since it was announced. I love that Rebecca Ross decided to give us a prequel story in this world.

The Poet Empress – Shen Tao

It’s been a while since I actually used my Illumicrate subscription, but The Poet Empress sounds amazing. I’ve never read a fantasy book with poetry magic and that’s very intriguing.

The Fundamentals of Being a Good Girl – Julie Murphy & Sierra Simone

I loved when this author duo wrote their Christmas movie trilogy together, so needless to say I was excited when they announced The Fundamentals of Being a Good Girl. This is one I actually had an eARC of, but I knew that I would want this Afterlight edition.

Still Smitten – Catana Chetwynd

Catana Comics are so much fun and feel so relatable! The fiancé got me up to date with the books that have been published. These books always know how to leave a smile on my face.

Throne in the Dark – A.K. Caggiano

I love how so many self-published books are being picked up by traditional publishers. Throne in the Dark is one of those books and it sounds like a great time.

Please Don’t Go – E. Salvador

Something about the cover of Please Don’t Go just kept catching my eye and I’ll say it’s a lot longer than I was expecting it to be! Both of our main characters are dealing with grief, so this is going to be an emotional one.

Sin Bin – Chelsea Curto

Face Off is still one of my favorite hockey romances and I’ve collected all of the books in the series up until Sin Bin. I’m hoping to binge the four books I still need to read when I’m on vacation in March.

Game Changer, Heated Rivalry, Tough Guy, Common Goal & The Long Game – Rachel Reid

Heated Rivalry is all over the place right now and I had to jump on the hype. At the moment, I’ve read the first two books and I’ve had a great time. I accidentally bought The Long Game instead of Game Changer, so that’s why I only need the fifth book before completing my series.

House of Dragons – K.A. Linde

House of Dragons used to be a self-published story, but has now been picked up. I loved the first few books of this story when I read them a few years ago. So it’s time to pick them up and see if anything has changed.

Meet the Newmans – Jennifer Niven

Meet the Newmans is about a TV family who appears to not be as perfect as they seem. This story caught my eye, because I grew up watching the older family sitcoms with my grandmother. So I can’t wait to see what happens with the Newmans.

Anywhere – Sarah Sprinz

Sarah Sprinz is a new to me author and Anywhere has this stunning edition. I can never say no to stories that take place at an academy. Anywhere seems like it is going to be an emotional one, but also full of secrets?

Beth Is Dead – Katie Bernet

I’ve never read Little Women, but the idea that this story gets turned into a thriller had Beth Is Dead catching my eye. We get flashbacks from Beth’s POV while her sisters try and find the person who killed her.

Bourbon & Lies – Victoria Wilder

Bourbon & Lies is a book I already read and loved when it was a self-published story. All three books were five star reads for me, so I need these pretty editions on my shelves.

Honor – Danielle Baker

Firefighter romances aren’t something I see often, but they are intriguing. I read Fight, the first book in this series, in January and devoured that. I’m excited to read the rest. Honor is the third and final book.

Dove – Paisley Hope

Paisley Hope writes cowboy romances and MC romances apparently, haha. I have Wolf.e on my shelf to read soon, so I needed to make sure I had the sequel with sprayed edges as well. This year I’m really trying to tackle more series.

Jealous Rage – Sav R. Miller

Jealous Rage is the sequel to Endless Anger and even though I haven’t read it yet, I needed to make sure I got this pretty first print edition. I’ve heard great things about these books, so I’m excited to read them myself.

Isabelle

After Candyce’s big bookhaul this feels even more tiny haha. I didn’t get any new physical books this month, I have been eyeing some books but I try to be mindful since I don’t read that much at the moment unfortunately. My audiobook credits on Audible have been piling up as well, but I did get one new audiobook this month!

Audible

The Hero of Ages – Brandon Sanderson

This is the last book in the original Mistborn trilogy I have to read. I do own a physical copy and I have read a part of it years ago, but I dived back in with the audiobook. Hopefully this way I can finally finish this trilogy and move onto the other Brandon Sanderson books I own.

So that’s our January wrap up! Have you read any of these? Or what did you add to your shelves last month? Let us know in the comments. We’d love to hear from you!
