WWW Wednesday #103

It’s Wednesday, so time for a new WWW Wednesday to talk about my reading progress and plans. I really love these posts and talking more about what I’m reading before the monthly wrap up. Even if my reading plans change I like thinking about what I’m going to read!

So it’s time for my next WWW Wednesday. This is a weekly meme hosted by Taking On a World of Words and you participate by simply answering three questions:

  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What are you currently reading?
  • What do you think you’ll read next?

What did you recently finish reading?

A Language of Dragons – S.F. Williamson

A Language of Dragons is one I’ve been interested in since I got my Fairyloot edition in the mail. I flew through this book. I loved how language was incorporated into this story. As someone who learned a second language as a teenager, I definitely find stories like this fascinating. I’ll be reading the sequel very soon.

Blackthorn – J.T. Geissinger

Blackthorn is my first book by J.T. Geissinger and it definitely left me wanting more. This book feels a lot like a fever dream, but in an eerie and interesting way. The small town setting, family secrets, and events in this book kept me hooked. I do wish this one had a sequel.

What are you currently reading?

Firebird – Juliette Cross

Firebird is a book that I’ve seen some talk about. I get it when it comes to the whole slave/slave master issues, but at a 100 pages in I’m still intrigued. In the end, this is all fiction. The story is starting off a bit slow and I have no clue how everything will play out.

No Place Left to Hide – Megan Lally

That’s Not My Name by Megan Lally was one of my favorite thrillers the year I read it. So it was time for me to pick up No Place Left to Hide. At the moment I’m about halfway through and I really have no clue how this thriller will end. I love the switch between “before” and “now”. I wonder what really happened.

What do you think you’ll read next?

The Elsewhere Express – Samantha Sotto Yambao

The Elsewhere Express is a book I’ll be reading for my Discord book club this week. A train that will let you reimagine your life if you find the compartment on time? That sounds interesting. I enjoy cozy fantasy books, so I’m hoping I’ll love this book.

Heated Rivalry – Rachel Reid

I’m sure just about everyone has heard about Heated Rivalry by now, haha. Last week, I read Game Changer and had a great time! So of course, I need to continue the series. The show is finally on HBOMax here, so I’ll be watching the first episode after I finish the book.

So that’s my WWW Wednesday for this week! What have you been reading lately? Let me know in the comments. I’d love to hear from you.
