I want to try the Buzzword Reading Challenge this year! It is created by BooksandLala and I love her YouTube video’s so much. While it might be challenging for me, there are 12 prompts, one for every month, I would love to complete this challenge. I tried to pick some books for every prompt, so I guess I have a tentative TBR for this year. Let’s take a look!
In accordance with one of my reading goals for the year, I have started using my Storygraph account again and I joined the Buzzword Reading Challenge there as well. It’s great having a challenge in my reading tracker app, that way I hopefully stick with it all year round. Kayla also has really nice graphics for this challenge on her website, you should definitely check those out. And now it’s time to see the 12 prompts and the books I was thinking of reading for those prompts.

January – “Before” and “After”

Before the Coffee Gets Cold – Toshikazu Kawaguchi
This was a Christmas present years ago I believe and I have started reading it at one point. I’m excited to finally read it and I hope to actually do so this year.
February – Keyboard Keys

record of a spaceborn few – becky chambers
This one might be a bit of a stretch, but there is a spacebar on your keyboard haha. Since I wanted to use books I already own or have eARC’s for this was the only one that even remotely fitted the category. I loved the previous books in this series and I’m excited to dive back in.
March – “This” and “That” (or “these” and “those”)

These Rebel Waves – Sara Raasch
I read the first chapter of this one for a Read a Chapter tag and enjoyed it more than I thought I would. In the past I have read a series by Sara Raasch and really enjoyed that one too. Since I’m not reading that much YA anymore, I’m interested to see how this one will go.
April – Ordinal Numbers

The Fifth Season – N.K. Jemisin
I have been wanting to read this one for such a long time now, but I’m also a bit intimidated. It’s a book I really want to love. Maybe I’ll go with the audiobook for this one, but I’m not sure just yet!
May – Make/Making/Maker

Matchmaking for Psychopaths – Tasha Coryell
I bought this one last year and was definitely intrigued by the title. It just sounds like a book for me and I’m really excited to jump into this one.
June – One Word Title

Babel or Katabasis – R.F. Kuang
Funnily enough both books I picked for this prompt are by R.F. Kuang haha. And I would absolutely love to read both of them this year! I actually did just start listening to the audiobook for Babel, but I’m not that far in just yet, so I’m not sure if I will continue.
July – Occupations

SpyxFamily vol. 6 – Tatsuya Endo
I had some trouble picking a book for this prompt, but then I saw on Storygraph that someone picked this series for it and I was inspired! Since I still have a couple of SpyxFamily volumes on my TBR I think it won’t be a problem at all to fulfil this prompt.
August – Groups & Clubs

The Mysterious Benedict Society – Trenton Lee Stewart or The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches – Sangu Mandanna
I have 2 books that work for this prompt. The first one is one on my physical TBR, I got it in Paris and I’m excited to dive in! Or I could go with the other one and get an eARC out of the way haha. Both are books I would love to read this year.
September – “Me” & “My”

My Salty Mary – Cynthia Hand, Brodi Ashton & Jodi Meadows
I loved the books by these ladies I’ve read so far and I actually already read part of this one! Somehow I did skip My Imaginary Mary, maybe I could also read that one haha. Anyways, I can’t wait to continue reading and loving this one.
October – Parts of a House
I haven’t found a book for this one just yet. There are a couple of books with the word house in the title on my TBR, but not with actual parts of a house. So I figured I would just wait a while, maybe I’ll find a book that fits the prompt really well and otherwise I can still go with a book with the word house in the title.
November – Title that Contains Instructions

Cramm This Book – Olivia Seltzer or Give the Dark My Love – Beth Revis or Save the Date – Morgan Matson or Kill the Queen – Jennifer Estep
A lot of options for this one! And a wide range of genres haha. I have a non-fiction book, 2 fantasies and a YA romance. For this one I’ll just see what I’m in the mood for. They have all been on my TBR for a pretty long time now, but I’m curious about all of them.
December – Superlatives

The Grandest Game – Jennifer Lynn Barnes or The Coldest Girl in Coldtown – Holly Black
I love the Inheritance Games books and I can’t wait to go back to this world and read about these characters. While I loved some of Holly Black’s more recent books, I was really disappointed by some of her earlier work. So I have a feeling I know what book I’ll be going with haha. Although it would also be nice to get The Coldest Girl off my TBR ;).
These are the possible books I hope to read for the Buzzword Reading Challenge. It will be the first time I’m attempting to do this challenge, but I’m really excited. Is anyone else participating? What books are you picking? And do you have a recommendation for the Parts of a House prompt? Let me know down below!

I love the Buzzword challenges!! I do cover and titles and I have a lot of fun with them.
