Bookhaul | December 2025

It’s time for the last bookhaul of the year! December can be a bigger haul month, because Christmas can be the bringer of bookish gifts, haha. Let’s see what we added to our last haul of 2025!

Candyce

In December I added 28 books to my shelves. This is only what I added through pre-orders, bookstore visits, and gift cards. My Christmas haul will be posted tomorrow. December was a great bookish month for me. Let’s see what I added to my shelves.

Seeing Other People – Emily Wibberley & Austin Siegemund-Broka

This author duo writes fun books and the concept of Seeing Other People caught my eye. Our two main characters are being haunted by their exes and when they work together to figure things out, I believe they end up falling in love? I’m sold!

Fight – Sloane St. James & Protect – Paisley Hope

Firefighter romances are something I don’t think I’ve ever read before and the Sky Ridge Hotshots is a trilogy that has caught my eye since they released. All three books have now been traditionally published and I’ll be adding the third book to my collection in January when it releases. Why do I think these books are going to make me cry?

Rain of Shadows and Endings, Storm of Secrets and Sorrow, Tempest of Wrath and Vengeance, & Dawn of Chaos and Fury – Melissa K. Roehrich
So I have the first couple of books from the Lady of Darkness series by this author, but I also keep hearing amazing things about the Legacy series. The Legacy series is one that also just recently got traditionally published and the paperbacks became a lot more affordable. They’re all huge, but I have a feeling I’m going to love this author’s books.
Duke – Jessica Peterson
I’ve still only read Cash in the Lucky River Ranch series, but the first editions of the books now being traditionally published all have really pretty stenciled edges. Also, Cash was a five star read for me, so I’ll be shocked if I don’t enjoy the other books in this series. I believe the fifth and final book in the series releases later in 2026.
Sweet Venom – Rina Kent
Rina Kent has a huge backlist and I’m slowly working my way through her books. In 2025 I read 11 of the 30+ books she’s written in her suggested reading order. Just like with Duke, the first edition of Sweet Venom has pretty edges, so they’re being added to my collection. Hopefully I can be caught up with her books before the end of the year.
The Girl in the Love Song – Emma Scott
Emma Scott is an author I’ve really been wanting to read and The Girl in the Love Song. I’m going into this book pretty blind, but I do have a feeling that this book is going to be very emotional.
Secret Nights and Northern Lights – Megan Oliver
The cover alone is a reason I wanted to pick up Secret Nights and Northern Lights, but it’s also a childhood best friends and first loves being reunited romance. Iceland sounds like a perfect setting for a romance.
Strange Pictures & Strange Houses – Uketsu
Even though I’m not a horror reader at all, the concept and way these two books are told has really caught my attention. At first, I didn’t plan on adding these two my shelves, but they were on sale. Perfect time to try something new, right?
Riding the High & Freeing the Wild – Paisley Hope
I’m still very much in my cowboy romance era and I love the covers of these books. Just like the books I just talked about, these two books were also on sale. I loved Holding the Reins and I can’t wait to dive back into this world. I now have three books to catch up on.
Hat Trick – Chelsea Curto
Face Off was one of my favorite romances of the year. I have a feeling Chelsea Curto is going to become one of my very favorite authors. So I had to get this third book in the series and the fourth and fifth still coming my way. This is a series I’ll be binging in 2026.
Off to the Races, A Photo Finish, The Front Runner, & A False Start – Elsie Silver
So I already owned Off to the Races and A Photo Finish, but when I was out and about I stopped at a bookstore that had this boxset. I personally love these covers more, so I’ll be selling my other two copies and keeping these.
My Blade, Your Back – K.M. Moronova
After the ending of Your Knife, My Heart how could I not pre-order this one! My Blade, Your Back basically starts right after the ending of the first book. At the moment, I’m about 50 pages in to this story and I can’t wait to see where it goes.
Battle of the Bookstores – Ali Brady
If a book has a character with a bookstore or that loves anything bookish, I need to read it. Battle of the Bookstores is a romance where two bookstore managers are competing for the same position. I have a feeling that the banter will be great in this one.
Revolve – Bah Khabra
Another sports romance I added to my shelves. Revolve is the third book in the Off the Ice series and it’ll be another series I binge this year. I believe the fourth and final book releases in August 2026? I love romances between hockey players and figure skaters.
Soul Searching – Lyla Sage
After loving Lyla Sage’s cowboy romances, I’m curious to see what she does with a paranormal romance. This will actually be my first swoonalong read in 2026 and I’m curious to see what we all think. I know there have been some mixed reviews.
Coldwire – Chloe Gong
Coldwire is Fairyloot’s December YA pick and I love this edition! I love the idea of there being a virtual world because the real world is being destroyed in many ways. A friend and I are buddy reading this one. We’re almost 100 pages in and I’m hooked.
Dawn of the Firebird – Sarah Mughal Rana
Dawn of the Firebird is Fairyloot’s December adult pick and I want to say I’ve heard a lot of great things about this book from early readers. All I know is that it has contests. I love books with trials and those types of things.
We Who Will Die – Stacia Stark
We Who Will Die is Fairyloot’s December romantasy pick and it’s one I’ve been so curious about. A slow burn romance with vampires? Yes, please!
The Ragpicker King – Cassandra Clare
I can’t believe I forgot about The Ragpicker King. Sword Catcher is a book I enjoyed and I’ll definitely need to refresh my memory before continuing with this sequel. The Ragpicker King is a big book.

Isabelle

December is just like the previous months bookhaul wise haha. I didn’t get any new physical books, but I did get an audiobook with my Audible credit!

Audible

Babel – R.F. Kuang

I already had the ebook for this one, but I only read the first few pages. Since audiobooks seem the way to go for me I like having the option to switch between formats! I have been destroyed by R.F. Kuang books before, so I am a bit intimidated by this one haha.

So that’s our last 2025 bookhaul! Have you read any of these? Or what did you add to your shelves last month? Let us know in the comments. We’d love to hear from you!
