Wishlist Wednesday | Most Anticipated January 2026 Releases

We really sound like a broken record, but how is it time to talk about January 2026 releases? It feels like 2025 just started. That being said, tomorrow is the start of a new year. January tends to be a busy publishing month, so let’s see what our most anticipated releases are!

Through Gates of Garnet and Gold – Seanan McGuire (January 6th)

While I haven’t loved the later books like I did the first books, this series is still wonderful and of course I’m interested in the next Wayward Children book. This one is also about Nancy, who we know from the first book. So I’m for excited about this one!

Meet the Newmans – Jennifer Niven (January 6th)

Growing up I watched a lot of the family sitcoms, so I love the concept of this book. I mean no one is perfect, so I’m excited to see how this book plays out. I have an eARC, so I hope to curl up with this in January.

Beth is Dead – Katie Bernet (January 6th)

I’ve never read Little Women, but Beth is Dead really caught my eye. Beth is Dead is a thriller, but also a reimagining of this classic. There have been some amazing early reviews, so I have to see what this is all about.

Anatomy of an Alibi – Ashley Elston (January 13th)

I just have to leave you with part of the synopsis, it’s what hooked me! Aubrey and Camille hatch a plan. It sounds simple: For twelve hours, Aubrey will take Camille’s place. Camille will spy on Ben, and the two women will get the answers they desperately seek. Except the next morning, Ben is found murdered. Both women need an airtight alibi, but only one of them has it. And one false step is all it takes for everything to come undone.

Fundamentals of Being a Good Girl – Julie Murphy & Sierra Simone (January 13th)

This author duo wrote a holiday romance trilogy that was pretty spicy, haha. I’m excited to see that they’re pairing up again for a new rom com. Fundamentals of Being a Good Girl is a single dad/nanny romance. It’s been a while since I’ve read one of those.

The Poet Empress – Shen Tao (January 20th)

A world with poetry magic, a civil war and a woman becoming a poet while women aren’t allowed to read. Sounds intriguing to me! I believe this book has some trigger warnings, so be aware of that before diving in.

My Husband’s Wife – Alice Feeney (January 20th)

Alice Feeney has become an auto buy author for me and I’ve enjoyed all of the thrillers by her I’ve read so far. My Husband’s Wife is her 2026 release. I prefer to go into thrillers not knowing anything, so I can’t tell you more than this, haha.

We Who Have No Gods – Liza Anderson (January 27th)

A dark academia with witches and a human woman (seemingly at least) without powers. I’m already excited. Especially the fact that this has witches intrigues me, I feel like I should read more witch books haha.

So here are our most anticipated January releases! Do we have any in common? Or are there books you think we’re missing? Let us know in the comments. We’d love to hear from you!
