We have been having fun with Top Ten Tuesday, so we decided we will do one every week. This bookish meme was hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, and has been going since June 2010! Since January 2018 Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.
This week’s topic is Most Recent Additions to My Bookshelf, but this doesn’t seem like a great topic for me. I don’t get that many new books lately and I have shared all of them in our bookhauls. Since I will be going on a mini ski trip tomorrow, I decided to pick this topic from early December; Books Set in Snowy Places. Let’s see how many I have on my shelves!

1. Spinning Silver – Naomi Novik
I’m currently listening to Naomi Novik’s The Scholomance series (again… haha) and it reminded me of my love for her books. Uprooted was one of my favorite books when I read it and I can’t believe I still haven’t read Spinning Silver! Hopefully 2026 will be the year for this book and I.

2. Hunted – Meagan Spooner
I used to get as many retellings as possible, especially the Beauty and the Beast retellings. And now I’m stuck with a bunch of YA book I’m not that interested in anymore haha. I’m not sure I still want to pick up this book to be honest, I wouldn’t buy it now so we’ll have to see.

3. A Breath of Snow and Ashes – Diana Gabaldon
This is book 6 in the Outlander series, it’s been a while since I made any progress in the series and I don’t think I’m close to book 6 yet haha. But seeing this makes me want to slowly continue reading the series!

4. Red Sister – Mark Lawrence
I’m not completely sure this one is set in a snowy place, but I picked it because of the cover. If it’s not set in a snowy place, the cover is totally lying to us haha! I’m still really excited to jump into this series, I have heard amazing things about the story and I can’t wait to dive in.

5. Vassa in the Night – Sarah Porter
I thought this was partly based on the fairytale The Little Match Girl which would make it set in winter and snow. But it is more based on the Russian fairytale Vassilissa the Beautiful and now I’m debating whether this one should be on the list haha.

6. Wintersong – S. Jae-Jones
Both the title and the cover show us that this one definitely should be on the list! It was recommended to me by a reader friend years and years ago and it’s about the Goblin King. Once again a YA book I’m not that sure I still want to read.
I made it to 6 books on my TBR that I’m pretty sure have a snowy setting! There are some books I’m really excited about and a couple I don’t know if I still want to read them. I would love to hear your thoughts on these books, should I try them or just unhaul them? Let me know down below!
