I loved Nobody Wants This last year, as basically every one did I think haha. So of course I was excited for the second season! I started watching it as soon as it released and I finally finished it the other night. So today I wanted to talk about season 2. There will be some spoilers for season 1!
An agnostic sex podcaster and a newly single rabbi fall in love; discovering if their relationship can survive their wildly different lives and meddling families.
In season 1 we saw Joanne and Noah fall in love and choosing each other in spite of their different lives and religions. This is usually where a romcom movie would end; ‘and they lived happily ever after’. Not in this show though! We could a second season and this is where Joanne and Noah need to navigate life and their relationship and discover what being in a relationship is truly like.
I really enjoyed this second season. The relationship between Joanne and Noah is still incredibly cute, but they also have to face issues real life couples have to deal with. We also get to see more of Morgan, Esther and Sasha. I absolutely adore these characters, all for different reasons. In the end I really liked Morgan’s storyline this season, even though I really hated it while it was going on haha. I don’t know if that makes sense, but it might if you have watched the season.
I saw a lot of negative reactions to the end of the season. A lot of viewers seem to think we didn’t really go anywhere and we left in the same spot as we did in season 1. I don’t agree with that at all. After all that Joanne and Noah have been through, this choice definitely means something different than their season 1 choice does. It’s easy choosing each other in the beginning, when you’re fully in love and don’t really know what that choice entails just yet. Having to make that decision when you have experienced what comes with making that choice is something completely different in my opinion. And I can’t wait to see what will happen in season 3. I’m also really curious to see what will happen with Sasha, I really felt for him this season. He’s there for everyone, all of the time, and he doesn’t get back what he gives. Hopefully he will get what he deserves in the next season!
