TTT #407 | The First 10 Books I Randomly Grabbed from My Shelf

We have been having fun with Top Ten Tuesday, so we decided we will do one every week. This bookish meme was hosted by The Broke and the Bookish, and has been going since June 2010! Since January 2018 Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.

This week’s topic is The First 10 Books I Randomly Grabbed from My Shelf. A different, but fun topic! With the help of a random generator, I picked 10 numbers corresponding to the unread books on my shelves. Let’s see which 10 books I randomly picked.

1. A Promise of Fire – Amanda Bouchet

I got this one from a friend, she absolutely adores this one and thought I would like it as well. While I am still curious about this one, it isn’t one I will be prioritising anytime soon to be honest.

2. A Girl Called Shameless – Laura Steven

I loved the first book in this duology and I have been wanting to read this one ever since. This  is a book I should pick up really soon. I am a bit hesitant since the first book was so good, will this one be able to live up to my expectations?

3. Ruined – Amy Tintera

I kinda forgot I even owned this book. This one sounded really interesting when I first got it, but right now I’m not that interested anymore. I won’t get rid of it just yet, but I don’t plan on reading it anytime soon. Maybe this is a good one for a try a chapter tag.

4. The Fiery Cross – Diana Gabaldon

This is the fifth book in the Outlander series, it’s the next book I need to read in the series. It’s been a while since I last read a book in this series, I used to listen to the audiobooks. At some point I do want to continue reading this, but I’m not in a hurry.

5. Eyes Turned Skyward – Rebecca Yarros

This is the second book in the Flight & Glory series, I still need to read the first book in the series. I have finally read something by Rebecca Yarros after friends have been raving about her books for years. Fourth Wing is a bit different than her other books, I guess I should finally read the books I already own.

6. The Girl at Midnight – Melissa Grey

This is another book I totally forgot I had. I can’t really remember why I got it either and I can’t say I’m interested in it at the moment. It’s YA and the premise doesn’t sound that great to me either. I might just unhaul this one!

7. A Thousand Perfect Notes – C.G. Drews

I got this one because I love C.G. Drews’ blog Paperfury, it was one of the first blogs I followed and I loved her writing. Of course I had to support her writing, but now I still need to actually read the book haha.

8. Lud-in-the-Mist – Hope Mirrlees

This was a Christmas gift years ago, I love how the book looks! I am still interested in this one for sure and I hope to pick it up at some point. This is a bit of a classic fantasy story and I’m curious if the writing holds up.

9. These Rebel Waves – Sara Raasch

I used this one for a try a chapter tag once and I really enjoyed that first chapter. At some point I do want to read this one! I liked Sara Raasch’ other series I read and I hope this one will be even better.

10. The Song of Achilles – Madeline Miller

I’m scared to read this one, I’ll just admit it haha. Everyone seems to love this one and is also very emotional about it. I have to be in the right mindset to pick this one up, I’m not sure if I can do it right now. At some point I will though!

These were 10 books randomly picked from my shelves, what a fun topic! It made me write and think about books I totally forgot about haha. What did you think of this topic? Let me know down below!
