Once again it’s time for the scariest blog post of the month. Looking back at our bookhauls is a way for us to see if we’re actually reading the books we add to our shelves. Today we’ll be looking back at our October 2024 bookhaul. Let’s see how we did!
Candyce
In October 2024 I added 9 books to my shelves. That’s a small amount for me, so let’s see how many I actually read!

My Love Story with Yamada-kun at Lv999 Vol. 3 – Mashiro
Read
This anime was a lot of fun and I’m loving the manga. I’m sad it’s still not known when we’ll be getting another volume in English. I’ll definitely be keeping an eye out.

The Girl with No Reflection – Keshe Chow
Unread
If I’m being honest, I kind of forgot about this one. The synopsis is still very intriguing to me. I really need to bump this up my TBR.

The Thirteenth Child – Erin A. Craig
Unread
You would think I would’ve read an atmospheric read like The Thirteenth Child by now, but that doesn’t seem to be the case. I really should see if I can get the audiobook and read this one soon.

Monarch – Sophie Lark
Unread
I did really enjoy Grimstone last year and thought I would continue with Monarch. Once again, I became distracted. This would be good to finish as well, because it’ll be another series completed to add to my list.

Heir – Sabaa Tahir
Unread
An Ember in the Ashes is a series I adored, so a spin off in the same world? Yes, please! I will be honest and say that I’ve been waiting about more information about the sequel to this duology. Nothing is known at the moment and I want to read it a bit closer to that book releasing.

The Dagger and the Flame – Catherine Doyle
Unread
The Dagger and the Flame is another book I’m still really curious about. I recently saw a couple of YouTube videos where people were really enjoying this one. The sequel releases in December, so it’s time to curl up with this one.

Bloodguard – Cecy Robson
Read
Bloodguard was a hyped book before it released, but then I felt like we didn’t hear a thing about it. This was a fun read that did have some flaws, but I enjoyed getting to know our main characters. It’s not supposed to be a standalone, but I don’t see any news on a possible sequel.

The Coven – Harper L. Woods
Read
I had already read The Coven when it was still self published and I’m still very happy with this stunning edition. This series has a few more books now and I need to catch up!

Metal Slinger – Rachel Schneider
Read
I actually read Metal Slinger in October and it’s one I still think about often. That ending was shocking! Since then this book has been traditionally published and the sequel was announced and is being released next year. I know I will be rereading before that!
End Result:
Read: 4/9 – 44.4%
TBR: 5/9 – 55.6%
Isabelle
In October 2024 I got 2 new books, I got both of them in Paris and I was really excited about them. Now the question becomes, did I actually read them? Let’s find out!

Finlay Donovan is Killing It – Elle Cosimano
Read
I did read this one! It took me until this summer, but I finally did it. And I really enjoyed reading this one. I definitely want to continue reading this series, it’s a lot of fun and I’m excited to find out what happens next.

Legends & Lattes – Travis Baldree
Unread
Unfortunately I haven’t read this one yet. I am still very curious and I have high hopes, it just didn’t happen yet. This does seem like a book I would read in the fall and I might just pick it up soon!
End Result:
Read: 1/2 – 50%
TBR: 1/2 – 50%
So that’s a wrap on this looking back at our bookhauls! Have you read any of these? Or do you keep track to see if you read the books you add to your shelves? Let us know in the comments. We’d love to hear from you!
