Bookish Item| October TBR

How is it already October?!! That being said a new month means a new TBR! As we know, I don’t always stick to this list, but these are the books I’m excited about at the moment. Let’s take a look at my October hopefuls/TBR.

Group Reads/Bookclub

Wisteria – Adalyn Grace

My series slayers group is now ready to read the third book in the Belladonna series. There is a novella that released in September, but the original story is done after Wisteria. I’m curious to see how this is going to wrap up.

The Ritual – Shantel Tessier

The Ritual is a book I’ve been really curious about and a few of my friends think I’ll enjoy it. So I decided to have my swoonalong read go a bit darker for October. This book is a little over 600 pages, so it’ll keep us busy for a bit!

Leviathan Wakes – James S.A. Corey

My book club is reading Leviathan Wakes in October. This is a book that’s been nominated so many times and was so close to winning almost every time it was nominated. I don’t read a lot of science ficiton, but I am curious about this one.

eARCs

Female Fantasy – Iman Hariri-Kia

In Female Fantasy our main character has been disappointed by real life men so many times she starts thinking only fictional men could work for her. When she finds out the MMC of one of her favorite books is based on the author’s best friend she starts searching for this man. This sounds like it’s going to be a lot of fun!

Some Kind of Famous – Ava Wilder

Some Kind of Famous is an emotional small-town romance and that’s all I need to know to want to read this one, haha. I don’t think I’ve read a romance between a disgraced ex-musician and local handyman before. I hope this is one I can’t put down.

Little Pieces of Light – Emma Scott

It seems like Little Pieces of Light is going to be a pretty emotional coming-of-age love story that’s also a second chance romance? I believe this is the first book I’ll be reading by Emma Scott. She’s an author I’ve been curious about.

Series

Fate & Furies – Helen Scheuerer

Fate & Furies is the third book in The Legends of Thezmarr series. The second book ended on quite a cliffhanger, so I’m kind of scared to see what happens in this book. I obviously can’t say too much with this book being part of a series.

Wild Card – Elsie Silver

So I actually wanted to read the final book of the Rose Hill series in September, but that didn’t happen. I’ve loved all of the previous books and part of me is sad that it’s over. That doesn’t mean I don’t want to read this ex boyfriend’s father romance. I’m also hoping to see all of the other characters I’ve come to love in the previous three books.

Physical TBR/Backlist

I’ll be choosing three random books, but I’ll be adding a fourth book because it needs to be read so I know if I want the Fairyloot edition of the sequel or not.

Heavenly Bodies – Imani Erriu

Apparently this romance has gods, furies, and fates. I want to say that I haven’t read anything like this before and I’m very intrigued. Other than that, I don’t know much about Heavenly Bodies and I kind of want to keep it that way?

Behind the Net – Stephanie Archer

I’ve been loving sports romances at the moment, so Behind the Net is a great pick. This grumpy/sunshine romance is part of a series. I actually received this one for Christmas last year, so if I love it, I’ll add more of the series to my wishlist for this year.

Cursed Fates – Caroline Peckham & Susanne Valenti

It’s funny that this one was randomly generated, because I just put it on my Fall want to read list in my post on Tuesday. I really want to finish the Zodiac Academy series and October seems like a great month for these kind of books. I still need to decide if I have to start over again or not.

Us Against You – Fredrik Backman

Another book I’ve been wanting to read. I actually had it in my hands to read in September, but ended up picking up something else. Us Against You is the sequel to Beartown and I’m curious to see where this emotional story goes. How will this small town bounce back?

So here are some of the books I’m hoping to read in October! Have you read any of these? Or what’s on your October TBR? Let me know in the comments. I’d love to hear from you!
