By now I hope most of you have seen the second season of Wednesday! I loved loved loved the first season and was really excited for the second season. Unfortunately we got it in 2 parts, but I have watched all the episodes now and I want to share my thoughts. So let’s jump in!

Follows Wednesday Addams’ years as a student, when she attempts to master her emerging psychic ability, thwart a killing spree, and solve the mystery that embroiled her parents.

Season 2 starts after the summer break and we follow Wednesday as she goes back to Nevermore. With her, her brother also comes to Nevermore and we see a lot more of her parents. We still get the characters we know and love from the first season, but we also get a couple of new characters.

All of that makes for a lot of storylines to follow. And I don’t want to spoil anything for anyone who hasn’t watched the second season yet, but I wonder if it was the right choice to give us the season in two parts. The first part felt like there was too much going on, there were a lot of storylines and some of them I didn’t care about at all. But after watching the second part of the season it all made sense and clicked together. So I wonder if my feelings about the first couple of episodes would have been different is I watched them all in one go. Or would it hit less like it did now?

I think overall I liked the first season better than I did the second season, but in the end I also ended up really enjoying the second season. We got some amazing plot twists and I really enjoyed how everything came together. I got even more love for Thing now and Enid is still one of the best characters ever. She is such a good friend to Wednesday and I can’t wait for the next season. After the ending we got, it’s a need! Luckily it has been announced that there will be a third season in 2026, so the wait won’t be too long.

I feel like this season was really about finding yourself, even more than the first season. And about accepting and loving yourself. It’s a message I think a lot of people need to hear and I hope it came across for everyone. Personally I really like this show and I would love to rewatch it all this spooky season!
