WWW Wednesday #94

It’s Wednesday, so time for a new WWW Wednesday to talk about my reading progress and plans. I really love these posts and talking more about what I’m reading before the monthly wrap up. Even if my reading plans change I like thinking about what I’m going to read!

So it’s time for my next WWW Wednesday. This is a weekly meme hosted by Taking On a World of Words and you participate by simply answering three questions:

  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What are you currently reading?
  • What do you think you’ll read next?

What did you recently finish reading?

Beautiful Things – Emily Rath

I don’t read many historical romances, but this cover was just so stunning and I can’t pass up a good why choose romance. Beautiful Things was slow burn and I loved the vibes. Sometimes I wish the characters would’ve communicated a bit more, but all in all, I’m curious to see where this series is going to go.

Katabasis – R.F. Kuang

Katabasis was one of my anticipated releases of the year and I will say it didn’t disappoint. The book did go a bit differently than I expected, but I enjoyed this story. R.F. Kuang has an amazing writing style. I also enjoyed that even though she gave us a lot of information, it wasn’t just an info dump. It was incorporated into the story very nicely. I need to read Babel soon.

What are you currently reading?

Lucky Shot – Rebecca Jenshak

I’ve been back into my hockey romance era, so I had to sign up for an eARC of Lucky Shot. I’m a little late with this one, but I’m over halfway through. Our FMC is a romance author who has to change her baseball romance into a hockey romance. Our MMC is a grumpy hockey player who is going to answer her questions. I love their banter and tension. This book is making me want to read the rest of Rebecca’s backlist.

Immortal Consequences – I.V. Marie

Immortal Consequences will be a book that takes me a little longer to read, because I’m doing a buddy read with a friend. We’re reading three chapters a day! So far this book has me very intrigued. A boarding school setting is one of my favorites. The fact that none of these students are actually alive is very intriguing and I feel like this is the perfect time of year for a book like this.

What do you think you’ll read next?

People Watching – Hannah Bonam-Young

Hannah Bonam-Young has quickly become one of my favorite authors. She writes stories that really hit you in all the feels. I’ve heard this one is going to be pretty emotional, but other than that I’m going into this one blind.

Wild Card – Elsie Silver

Wild Card is another new release I’m so excited about this week! This is the last book in the Rose Hill series and that makes me sad, haha. I’m very curious about Wild Card because its a ex’s father romance. I can’t say I’ve read many of those!

So that’s my WWW Wednesday for this week! What have you been reading lately? Let me know in the comments. I’d love to hear from you.
