In a few days it’ll be the beginning of September, so it’s time to talk about our most anticipated September releases. September is normally a big publishing month, so let’s see how long our list will be. It may just be a dangerous month for our bank accounts!

Falling Like Leaves – Misty Wilson (September 2nd)
September means autumn to me and I’m ready to get cozy. The first thing I see in the synopsis is Gilmore Girls meets Jenny Han and that’s all I need to know, because that sounds like a great combination. The town this book is taking place is getting ready for a fall festival. I have a feeling this is going to be a great time.

When We Were Monsters – Jennifer Niven (September 2nd)
An elite boarding school, a murdered teacher. Sign me up! I love a good psychological thriller and somehow I always enjoy a boarding school setting. Hopefully this will be another great read, I can’t wait to dive in.

Wild Reverence – Rebecca Ross (September 2nd)
The Letters of Enchantment duology is one of my favorites and I’m so excited this author has decided to give us a prequel in this world. Early reviews are very positive and I’ll be reading this one right after release day.

If It Makes You Happy – Julie Olivia (September 2nd)
Look at this adorable cover! This one gives major Gilmore Girls vibes and as a Gilmore Girlie I couldn’t be more excited. Well, apparently this also has slow burn and is set in the 90s so now I’m even more into it!

People Watching – Hannah Bonam-Young (September September 9th)
I’ll be honest and say I have no clue what People Watching is about. All I know is that Hannah Bonam-Young is one of my favorite authors and she writes beautiful books. If it’s not a bit emotional, I’ll be surprised.

Everything She Does Is Magic – Bridget Morrissey (September 9th)
I’ve read a few adult romances by Bridget Morrissey, but Everything She Does is Magic is a young adult book. This town has Halloween everyday and Gilmore Girls vibes? Yes, please!

Wild Card – Elsie Silver (September 9th)
Elsie Silver has become one of my favorite authors and I’m sad Wild Card is the last book in this series. I want to say we’ve met Sebastian before, but I’m not 100% sure! All I know is that I need this book in my hands.

We Met Like This – Kasie West (September 16th)
Kasie West has written a few YA romances that I’ve really enjoyed, so it’ll be exciting to see what she does with her adult debut. A hopeless romantic falling for the person she never expected? Sounds interesting to me!

The Killer Question – Janice Hallett (September 23rd)
This mystery is told through phone messages, emails, police interviews and pub quiz categories. Because this story is set at a pub that hosts pub quizzes every week. If there’s something I love, it’s pub quizzes. This sounds like a unique and fun mystery.

Tourist Season – Brynne Weaver (September 23rd)
The Ruinous Love Trilogy was so much fun and I believe we got a little glimpse of Tourist Season at the end of the final book. I’m really excited to see what this author has in store for us with a new series.

What Fury Brings – Tricia Levenseller (September 23rd)
I’ve read some YA fantasy books by Tricia Levenseller, but What Fury Brings is her adult debut. I love all of the YA authors branching out this year. Our main character must kidnap and train a husband to take her rightful place as queen? This is going to be interesting.

The Heartbreak Hotel – Ellen O’Clover (September 23rd)
Another author who wrote YA stepping into the adult books. The Heartbreak Hotel sounds interesting. A bed-and-breakfast for the brokenhearted isn’t something I’ve read before, but I am intrigued.

Alchemised – SenLinYu (September 23rd)
One of my most anticipated of the year! This used to be a work of fanfiction and I’m so curious to see how it will work as an original work. Manacled was a very dark, but very good (also huge) story and I can’t wait to dive into Alchemised!

The Underachiever’s Guide to Love and Saving the World – Sloane Brooks (September 30th)
A fantasy romcom with enemies who fall through a portal and have to work together to get back to their own reality. This sounds hilarious and like a fun, chill reading time. It’s an adult cozy fantasy and I think we can use more of those.

Holiday Ever After – Hannah Grace (September 30th)
I enjoyed Icebreaker and Wildfire by this author (Daydream is still on my TBR), so I was very excited that she wrote a holiday romance. We’re getting to the time of year that I’m going to want to binge all of the holiday books I can get my hands on.

Fake Skating – Lynn Painter (September 30th)
If Lynn Painter writes it, I’ll read it. I’ve loved her YA and adult romances. Fake Skating has fake dating and that is my favorite trope. I have a feeling I’m going to be loving this one.

Make Me a Monster – Kalynn Bayron (September 30th)
I’m not much of a horror reader, but the fact that Make Me a Monster is a Frakenstein-tinged horror romance has me intrigued. Also, horror romance? I don’t think I’ve ever read one of those.

Bitten – Jordan Stephanie Gray (September 30th)
A werewolf romance with enemies to lovers. I have to say, it’s been a while since I’ve read a good werewolf book, so I’m really curious about this one. The MC gets bitten and has to move to the werewolf court, she wants revenge but also finds out the court is at war. I think this one can be great or horrible haha.

Holly – Adalyn Grace (September 30th)
I’m currently reading the Belladonna series and I think it’s great we’re getting a holiday novella. And novella may not be the right word, because this is almost 400 pages. I’m not sure what the story is about but I don’t want to spoil myself before I’ve read the third book.

Soul Searching – Lyla Sage (September 30th)
I was so sad the last book in the Rebel Blue Ranch series released this year, but I am very excited we’re getting the first book in her new series this month. The cover seems perfect for a fall read. The fact that Soul Searching also has paranormal elements, confirms that even more.

Burning Daylight – Emily McIntire (September 30th)
I haven’t read much by this author, but I’m very curious about Burning Daylight. This is the first book in a new contemporary romance. It seems to be a forbidden romance? Add this one to my shelves!
So here are our most anticipated September releases! Do we have any in common? Or did we forget any you think we should add? Let us know in the comments. We’d love to hear from you.
