Looking Back at Our Bookhauls | July 2024

It’s that time a month again where we are looking back at our bookhauls! What did we get in July 2024? More importantly, did we read what we added to our shelves? Keep on reading to find out!

Candyce

In July 2024, I added 8 new books to my shelves. Let’s see what progress I have made since then!

Cat + Gamer Vol. 5 – Watrau Nadatani
Read

Of course I read this volume of manga. Cat + Gamer is such a fun story to read. I love the little bonus chapters where we get to read from the cat’s POV. The last volume releases soon and I’m sad this series is coming to an end.

Wolfsong & Ravenson – TJ Klune
Unread

Okay, so I haven’t read these two books yet. This also makes me realize I need to see if the other two books in the series are out in this edition yet, haha. TJ Klune is one of my favorite authors and I’m still working on his backlist. I am hoping to tackle this series before the end of the year.

The Wren in the Holly Libraray – K.A. Linde
Read

Like I said in last month’s post, I accidentally have this book twice, haha. I ordered the deluxe edition with pretty sprayed edges, but didn’t realize I would be getting a copy from Fairyloot. I really enjoyed this fantasy romance and I hope to read the sequel soon.

A Sign of Affection Vol. 9 – suu Morishita
Read

A Sign of Affection is my favorite manga series, so this never stays unread that long. I tend to read the volume I receive the same day. I’m still loving this story and I’m curious to see where it goes. It’s time to look up when the next volume will be releasing.

Catch the Sun – Jennifer Hartmann
Unread

The week this post comes online, I actually plan on reading Catch the Sun. I was hoping to read this book before this post, but work got nuts and I didn’t read for almost a week, haha. Jennifer Hartmann is known for her emotional books. I know this won’t be any different.

A Thousand Broken Kisses – Tillie Cole
Read

After being an emotional wreck after A Thousand Boy Kisses, I wasn’t expecting A Thousand Broken Kisses to hit as hard as it did. It’s clear grief hits everyone differently and this book depicted that so well. I’ll think of this one often.

Sleep Like Death – Kalynn Bayron
Read

I only recently read Sleep Like Death, but I’m glad I finally picked it up. This Snow White retelling was a pleasant surprise. Kalynn Bayron knows how to give fairytales a twist!

End Result:
Read: 5/8 –62,5%
TBR: 3/8 – 37,5%

Isabelle

In July 2024 I added only 1 book to my shelves! Still a lot more than I have recently haha ;). Now the question is whether I read that one book or not, let’s take a look.

When the Moon Hatched – Sarah A. Parker
Read

I got this big book for my trip last summer, trips always seem like a good excuse to buy new books haha. However, this was a big one and started off pretty complicated and since I was super tired every day of my Formula 1 trip I hardly read it. Luckily I was able to listen to the audiobook later on and now I can say I did actually read this one. I’m excited about the sequel!

End Result:
Read: 1/1 – 100%
TBR: 0/1 – o%

So that’s another looking back at our bookhauls! Have you read any of these books? Or did you read the books you got in July 2024? Let us know in the comments. We’d love to hear from you!
