Bookish Item| July TBR

As we all know by now, I’m very bad at sticking to my monthly TBRs, but I love making them. It’s the end of June, so time to talk about the books I’m thinking about reading in July. Who knows if I’ll actually read them all, but I always give it a try, haha. Keep on reading for my July TBR!

Group Reads

Anywhere You Go – Bridget Morrissey

Bridget Morrissey writes romances that I really enjoy and Anywhere You Go sounds like a fun summer read. Our main characters switch lives to escape some messiness in their lives and we all know that romance is going to be involved. I love stories where characters need to get away from their surroundings for a bit.

The Blood Traitor – Lynette Noni

We’re finishing The Prison Healer trilogy this month. I can’t talk about this one much, because it’s the third and final book, but this has been such a ride. I’m curious to see how the author is going to wrap this one up.

Bat Eater and Other Names for Cora Zeng – Kylie Lee Baker

I don’t read a lot of horror, but I loved The Scarlet Alchemist by this author. The only thing I’m a bit worried about her is the pandemic themes in this one. I haven’t really read any since the actual pandemic, but I’ve heard great things about this book.

eARCs

Totally and Completely Fine – Elissa Sussman

The previous books I’ve read by this author were good, so I’m excited about Totally and Completely Fine. Our main character is a widowed single mother and meets an attractive actor. I have a feeling this is going to be about her finding herself again and maybe some love.

Not Quite Dead Yet – Holly Jackson

I loved the A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder trilogy and Not Quite Dead Yet is Holly’s adult debut. I’m really intrigued, because this one has our main character trying to solve her own murder. That’s going to be very interesting.

Roll for Romance – Lenora Woods

Our two main characters love tabletop games and start falling for each other in and out of their weekly Dungeons and Dragons sessions. I love when board games or D&D are incorporated into stories. I’ll be surprised if I don’t end up being a big fan of this one.

Backlist Books/Physical TBR

Just like every month, I choose three random physical books on my TBR. Let’s see what I get this month!

A Novel Love Story – Ashley Poston

Ashley Poston writes contemporary romances with a little magical twist and that makes the romances so much fun. In A Novel Love Story our main character ends up in her favorite fictional town. I know I wish I could visit favorite fictional towns!

The True Love Experiment – Christina Lauren

Christina Lauren is an author duo I love and it’s been so long since I’ve read a book by them. The True Love Experiment caught my eye because our main character is a romance author, but has never been in love! She agrees to be part of an experiment to find love. I know this is going to be a lot of fun.

The Games Gods Play – Abigail Owen

I remember I was so excited about reading The Games Gods Play when it released last year, but I’m really good at getting distracted. All I know is that there seems to be deadly competitions? I’ll always read a book with those!

So here are some of the books I’m hoping to read in July! Have you read any of these? Or what do you plan on reading? Let me know in the comments. I’d love to hear from you.
