I started a new show on a random weekday and I was hooked pretty much right from the start. During a really busy workweek I wanted to watch something easy and I decided to give Ransom Canyon a try. Today I wanted to tell you all about it!
P
assions run deep in a small Texas town, as three ranching dynasties fight for their land, their legacies and the people they love.
As the look on the poster suggested, this is a cowboy drama. And I have been wanting to find another fun country show so this was just what I needed. This weekend was about my Zach Bryan concert, so getting into that vibe the weeks before couldn’t be more perfect.
Before I started watching this, I didn’t realise it was based on a book series. There are 8 books, 2 novellas and a prequel. So if you want to try the books, you have a good amount of reads to go ;). The first 3 books are available through Kindle Unlimited, so I might give them a try!
The show is a really fun drama show. There are multiple characters and their relationships to follow. We start with some really sad scenes to properly set the stage and then we get into the main stories.
I really enjoyed this, but it is also a show where you shouldn’t expect too must realism. There are some over the top storylines and twists. And at the start of the show you already know who the couples are going to be. But sometimes you’re just in the mood for a show just like that. And this one did have some heartfelt moments as well.
Like I said, I really enjoyed it and was rooting for my favorite couple to get together. There was a big twist at the end though, so I hope there will be a second season so my favorites can be happy! Also, a little fun fact Dan Reynolds from Imagine Dragons has a small cameo in this (as his girlfriend Minka Kelly plays one of the main characters). As an Imagine Dragons fan I enjoyed that a lot haha.
Overall I would recommend this show, but make sure you have the right expectations for it. Otherwise you might be disappointed. Now I just have to find something similar to enjoy!

I just finished the first season yesterday and really enjoyed it. I had it on in the background while I was on my computer doing other things because it was just such an easy watch.
